Prince William and Kate Middleton made quite the scene on Friday: dressing like a normal couple returning from vacation at a London train station. Were it not for the paparazzi snaps and double-takes of passersby, the royal couple might have gone unnoticed as they went about with their private lives. The Mirror published some blurry but distinctive photos of the pair and their pup Lupo as they dashed to a waiting car.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were reportedly returning from a trip to Norfolk, where they had spent some time at their country home on the Queen’s estate. The couple’s young son Prince George, who recently celebrated his first birthday, was not spotted with them at the station. Prince William ably led their adorable cocker spaniel through the streets.
Both royals wore close-fitting ball caps and William wore black-rimmed eyeglasses.
It is heartening to see Prince William as a “man of the people,” mere days before the anniversary of the untimely passing of his mother, Princess Diana. Catching the young heir to the throne in a clearly private moment is a reminder of the down-to-earth sensibility Diana reportedly ingrained in her sons. As Just Jared reported, Prince William has been employed by the East Anglian Air Ambulance and will donate his salary to charity. Both William and Kate are 32, and Diana’s other son Prince Harry turns 30 in September.
Both William and Kate carried heavy bags, with the Duchess doing double duty by lugging two beige totes.
Kate showed off her stylish fashion sense even when dressed casually, with matching cap, sweater and coat.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, a new book by a close royal aide is due out this fall. Prince Charles was said to be “furious” at the publication which purports to reveal details about several royal marriages, including his own to Diana.
Meanwhile, the Sunday Express reports that while William and Kate were in the country they shared a romantic dinner and were noticeably affectionate with one another. An observer quoted by The Express said:
“When they had finished their meal, a couple of locals came up to them and said hello. They smiled and were very chatty, very accommodating. My overwhelming feeling was how normal they were. They just seemed happy to mix with the locals.”
