Lance Bass dyes his hair blue and promotes single he released in January

As he makes his return to music after more than a decade, Lance Bass is pulling out all the stops to make sure he gets noticed.

The former 'N Sync band member and Anise K., celebrated their new single, Walking on Air, in Las Vegas on Friday, July 4.

And Lance, 35, was certainly hard to miss as he debuted his new blue hair, which he paired with a classic blazer and checkered button down shirt.

But the new look seemed to suit the singer quite well as he made his rounds and hung out at the event.

The singer said he made the decision to get back into music nearly 12 years after 'N Sync disbanded.

'It's exciting. I detoured for a while there,' he told ABC News. 'I had a little free time a few months ago and I decided I want to do my debut single. It's something I miss so much.

'One song fell in my lap that I just knew I had to record, which was the song, Walking on Air. The girl on the track, I fell in love with - Bella Blue - and I had to do this duet as my first single.'

Lance revealed to Billboard recently that he's been listening to demos for the last two years.

'I’ve been thinking about music for the last couple of years and nothing really resonated with me at all until I got this song from Anise K,' he said.

'I listened to it for the first time and I thought, "Oh my gosh that’s a hit." I have to be a part of this and I signed on immediately and went to the recording studio 3 days after that.'

The former trainee-astronaut says Walking On Air is a 'fun dance track, and that its dance-club rhythm will give it 'wide appeal'.

'These days songs have to be played in clubs and this is one of those songs that you'll definitely hear in the club,' he suggested.
Earlier versions of the track were released in Australia and Belgium as a collaboration with Belgian singer Ian Thomas in 2013.

Lance, who is engaged to Michael Turchin, said he is already working on his second single.

He will be filming his upcoming nuptials for an E! special early next year.

Bass came out as gay in 2006.
