Britney Spears is Ready for a Crossroads Sequel After Zoe Saldana Gushes About Their Time Together

Britney Spears thanked her former Crossroads costar Zoe Saldana for defending her recent auto-tune controversy via Twitter on Monday, Aug. 4. Better yet, the "Ooh La La" singer jokingly teased about a sequel for their 2002 coming-of-age film!

".@zoesaldana Truly the sweetest, thx 4 the kind words. Nothing but great memories of working w u. Crossroads pt 2? ;)," Spears, 32, tweeted. She also posted a cute throwback GIF of the gals dancing in the road trip scene with fellow costar, Orange Is the New Black's Taryn Manning.

Saldana, 36, came to Spears' defense during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on July 31. "I'm pretty sure that 80 percent of our musical artists would be mortified if they were caught singing without auto-tune," she said of Spears, whose unedited version of "Alien" was leaked last month.

"I have a huge amount of respect for Britney Spears," the pregnant Guardians of the Galaxy actress continued. "And I've always said this, and I will always continue to say it: She was the one big, big celebrity that I met when I was starting to work in Hollywood who was humble, and whatever was going on in her mind or in her world, it was never about hating her neighbor."

"She was the only pop star at that time—and I can name a lot of prominent figures right now that today are more famous than Britney that literally got to where they're at by hating on Britney a lot," she added. "Because it was cool at one time to really just diss her. And Britney never did that."

Saldana's response was appreciated by another famous Spears as well. Spears' younger sister Jamie Lynn (who played the child version of Spears' character Lucy) responded to Saldana's kind words by posting several clips of her WWHL interview via Instagram on Aug. 3. Older sister Britney retweeted the video.
