Ian Ziering's Diva Demands For Sharknado 3 Could Get Him And Tara Reid Fired From Franchise!

The Sharknado & Sharknado 2: The Second One star wants bigger payday, but studio happy to replace anyone who causes problems.

“They’ll replace him, they’ll replace Tara Reid. They’re not essential to story. No one is,” source close to Asylum tells Confidenti@l. “The sharks are graphics, and everyone is replaceable.”

While Sharknado 3 is a go, Ziering hasn’t signed his deal and is banking on a huge pay increase after Sharknado 2’s ratings bonanza. Nearly 4 million people watched the camp classic last month. Like the first installment, which was set in L.A., the second will also show in theaters for one weekend, bringing in even more money for the studio.

“Ian did the work and is fantastic, but it’s not Avatar” , a second source tells us. “The stars of the movie are the sharks, and they’re not even real.”

The movies draw ratings and ads, are extremely cheap to produce and take only a short time to shoot. The last one was filmed in New York in just 19 days.

“Ian needs to be careful how he plays this,” says insider. “If he asks for too much, he will be the first to be cut. The network execs are worse than any shark.”

Ziering made around $400,000 for first Sharknado, and revealed last year he was initially hesitant to take the part but did it so he wouldn't lose his Screen Actors Guild health insurance.

yass papi, get those koins!

The stars came out for the premiere of The Asylum & Fathom Events' 'Sharknado 2: The Second One' at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live on August 21, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.
