Today in rampant 'Doctor Strange' speculation: Jon Hamm denies being approached for the role

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, the Mad Men actor, briefly gave his opinion on the rumors that he could be in the race for the role of Marvel Comics' long discussed Dr. Strange:

"The funny thing about the internet is that you can have rumors go on about possible jobs and possible things that I had no idea about…maybe...I don't know. You know, it's funny when the internet knows more about you than you do, but…maybe the internet was talking to Marvel, I don't know. (laughs) No, I certainly wasn't approached by (Marvel), but I do like Dr. Strange. He's a very cool, cool character."

Hamm's name has frequently come up in rumors for who will play the Sorcerer Supreme, along with actors like Joaquin Phoenix, Matthew Modine, Johnny Depp, Justin Theroux, Hugh Laurie, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jared Leto, Tom Hardy, Patrick Dempsey, Aiden Gillen, Jim Caviezel, Daniel Radcliffe, and Jack Huston.
