Vin Diesel Wants Us All to Plant a Tree for Groot

Most celebrities, when faced with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, brave the chill and (hopefully) make a donation. Vin Diesel is not most celebrities. After Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn challenged him to the infamous ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Diesel accepted — but raised him one Plant a Tree for Groot Challenge. A lot of people thought he was joking. They were wrong.







Gunn knew his Guardians voice actor wasn't kidding around, though.







And, of course, Diesel wasn't about to start a challenge without completing it himself. He posted a photo to his Facebook page, prompting some of his fans to grab a shovel and get digging too.







Currently, Diesel's Plant a Tree for Groot Challenge is gaining momentum on Twitter. As can be expected, environmental groups are all promoting the cause like crazy, but really, it's a challenge we can all get behind, right?
