The new issue, which went on sale this week, listed some of the most influential women in the media and entertainment spheres. Apart from Julianne Moore, Nyong’o and Wang, the issue also profiles Misty Copeland and Megyn Kelly.
And while Julianne Moore was honored for her efforts concerning gun control laws, Kelly was praised for her work with Childhelp, a nonprofit organization that cares for child abuse victims. Kelly began her work at Childhelp after she had received an award from the organization back in 2009. The award was given for her reporting on child abuse issues as an anchor on Fox News.
Julianne Moore, who was honored for her gun control efforts, looked gorgeous gracing the cover of the magazine. The 55-year-old actress went for an all-natural look, wearing her hair in loose waves and having hoop earrings.

Julianne Moore has undertaken an enormous amount of work to spread the word about gun safety across the United States after the recent increase in shootings throughout the country. The actress has teamed up with Everytown for Gun Safety, an organization that aims to prevent gun violence. In fact, it is the largest U.S. organization for gun violence prevention.
Julianne Moore launched the Everytown Creative Council in October 2015, making herself the founding chairperson. The council also includes such high-profile stars as J.J. Abrams, Ellen DeGeneres, Steve Carell and Amy Schumer. The actress has repeatedly said that the council’s efforts are not an anti-gun movement or a partisan movement, but are rather focussed solely on safety.
Over the recent years, Julianne Moore has paid attention to many global issues, including literacy as well as children’s poverty. But it was the recent spike in shootings across the U.S. that made her deeply concerned, according to Variety.
In her recent interview with Variety, Julianne Moore cited the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School and said it was “alarming” to imagine that something like this could have ever happened in the country.
And that’s when Julianne Moore partnered with Everytown for Gun Safety through such groups as Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. The organization includes over 3 million members and calls for stricter background checks and advocated for laws that keep guns away from people with a criminal past.
Julianne Moore also said that she respects those who handle guns responsibly. Throughout her acting career, the actress has played quite a few characters that fired guns on screen. She also claimed that it’s “constitutional” and “an important thing to remember” that people must handle weapons responsibly.

And although cars result in a large number of injuries and fatalities all around the globe every day, nobody wants to get rid of cars, Julianne Moore said, adding that the auto industry constantly introduces measures to strengthen the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
“There’s no reason we can’t do the same with guns. It does not have to be a fight.”
In other news, Julianne Moore wasn’t the first one who wore that gorgeous black lace Chanel Spring 2016 Couture gown at the Academy Awards back in February this year, according to Fashion Style. It was actually Kendall Jenner who wore the Chanel gown first during her runway modeling at Paris Fashion Week back in September.
And although Julianne Moore complemented the gown with Chopard diamonds from Chanel’s High Jewelry Collection, Fashion Style still wonders who wore that gown best – Moore or Jenner?
