Selena Gomez may have split from on-off beau Justin Bieber, but she’s teaming up with Kevin Spacey — a Hollywood acting, directing and producing heavyweight.
And on Thursday, he tweeted about it. Setting off something of a storm among the starlet’s fans.
Spacey wrote, “Excited to see that @Selena Gomez is developing a project with @Trigger Street and @Dana Brunetti!,” before linking to a WhoSay entry showing the actress-singer holding a Trigger Street sign.

The Oscar winning, 55-year-old, is referring to the untitled television series which Selena and her mother, Mandy Teefy, are working on with Trigger Street productions.
That is Spacey’s and co-founder Dana Brunetti’s production company, the powerhouse behind successes such as The Social Network, House of Cards and Captain Phillips.
Since last week, Selena, then Mandy — who joined Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, under her television and film production company name, “Kicked to the Curb Productions” — have been teasing Instagram pics with the Trigger Street team.
Spacey’s tweet has now confirmed what fans have been talking about since “Kicked to the Curb’s” in-development projects became known.

It’s speculated that the Trigger Street TV series may see Gomez producing, something the Latina starlet did when she executive produced Wizards of Waverly Place: Alex vs. Alex.
Last week, Selena hinted,
“Trigger Street family. Exciting things to come. @sammyrayedroke #producermode ),” in her Instagram caption to the snap below.
Brunetti subsequently tweeted another team pic, writing,
“Hey @e_l_James, look who’s holding your vintage. @selenagomez great seeing you and the gang again. Fun times to come. #TriggerStreet.”
Mandy brought up the rear Wednesday, posting,”Here we go! Just a bunch of vagabonds #kttcp #giantpirate #triggerstreet @ Trigger Street Productions,”
To use Spacey’s word, it’s pretty exciting that Thirteen Reasons Why is on the upcoming schedule at Mandy’s company.
Back in 2011, Universal Studios purchased film rights to the same name 2007 New York Times, best-selling novel penned by Jay Asher, with Selena cast as lead Hannah Baker.
Nutshelled: schoolgirl Hannah, commits suicide, then leaves clues for twelve people which explain the thirteen reasons why she got out of Dodge. The title’s appearance at “Kicked to The Curb” bodes well for a green light on a film.
In other Gomez news, it’s been confirmed that her “Greatest Hits” album — For You — will drop on November 24. In fact, Walmart are now stocking it at $11.88 for pre-orders, Ocean Up reports.
Talk of a new Selena song, “Do It,” also surfaced earlier this week.
According to the database at ASCAP — the performing rights organization which licenses and collects royalties for song performances — the track is co-written by Gomez, Antonina Armato, and husband Tim James from the Rock Mafia songwriting/production team as well as David Jost.
It’s thought “Do It” will be one of the two new songs expected on For You, which will be the pop princess’ final output under Disney’s Hollywood Records, having inked a record deal with Interscope Records.
To E! News, Selena recently promised, “At the beginning of the year, I posted a picture for a secret project and that time is coming. I’m so excited,”
“Honestly, it’s good. It’s music-related and I’m very, very excited. It will be very, very soon.”
Gomez has hit big league visibility, as her current No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Social 50 chart shows, and her comeback is just around the corner.
Small wonder her latest Instagram video is titled, “Too many thoughts.”
