Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 8 Recap: Is Kira Girard a Criminal?

Picking up where last week's installment left off, Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 8 saw Abby Lee Miller clash with parents, as well as MattyB's management.


Who could have ever seen that development coming?!


Meanwhile, Kira Girard, dance mom of Kalani, may have even managed to upstage Abby Lee in terms of drama this week, which is no small feat. At all.

If you watch Dance Moms online, you know this West Coast swing was the girls' final chance to pull off a win against the best of the best in Los Angeles.


All without Maddie Ziegler, no less. It's a tall order.


Could they get it done? It did not look good at the start of Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 8, but if there's one thing you can predict on this show, it's this:


You can't predict anything on this show!


The girls split up at the onset, into teams of four. Shot-caller Abby did not grant any of her dancers solos for the week, she did give out two duets.


A couple of ALDC standouts, JoJo Siwa and Mackenzie Ziegler, Maddie's sister, were first gifted a musical theater number entitled "Lucy & Ethel.”


Meanwhile, Kalani Hilliker and Sarah were given a duet inspired by the infamous Tanya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan 1994 Olympic figure skating scandal.


Kalani's mom, Kira Girard, and Sarah’s mother, Tracey, staged a duet of their own behind the scenes, trading backhanded compliments and accusations.


At one point, Brynn’s mother Ashlee accused Kira of not having custody of her son Jax and failing to raise Kalani while she was “off with her boyfriend.”


“He doesn’t even live with you because you’re never home!” Ashlee said, at which point Kira shot back, “Don’t sit there and lie like a f--king b-tch.”


They weren't done, either.


After Tracey failed to make Abby give Sarah a spot on the ALDC elite junior team, she brought up Kira’s alleged criminal history in a bid to get Kalani booted"


“You have a history of so much manipulation, so many lies… I would be happy to talk about your arrest record. You have been arrested for credit card fraud!”


JoJo’s mother Jessalynn then dug up the dirt online and shared, “There was a trial and their was sentencing and there was theft and attempt to commit theft."


Kira full-on denied the shocking allegations. “You’re making up f--king false things. You don’t make up false information about me or what I’ve been through."


Abby wasn't fazed. She invited back JoJo Siwa, and granted Brynn the chance to dance with her at her Pittsburgh, Pa., studio, thereby letting Sarah go.


“You’re 14 which is too old for this group. I think we will work together again in the future,” Abby told Sarah. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Trace.
