It isn’t easy to lose weight. So much information is contradictory, and it’s important to find the weight loss strategies that work for the dieter. In the most recent studies, beer has been found to help dieters lose weight while exercise only showed modest results.

The study, which was done on mice, discovered that the flavor xanthohumol helped mice to lose weight. Researchers used 48 mice and divided them into two groups. During the 12-week study, the test mice were given 30 to 60 milligrams of xanthohumol while the second group was not. All the mice were fed the same diet, and it was high fat.
The result was that the mice who took the xanthohumol lost weight, and they also reduced their cholesterol by 80 percent. The downside is that in order to get the results that the researchers got in mice, a person would have to drink 3,500 pints of beer in 24 hours.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, wine, chocolate, and cheese were shown to help dieters lose weight too. The way that these foods helped dieters lose weight was by improving microbes in the gut. By eating these foods, it improved the type and amount of microbes in the gut because there are about four pounds of microbes in the gut. This is about 10 times the number of cells in the human body, and so it is crucial to have these microbes, not only to lose weight but improve health.
In another study, lentils, peas, and beans were found to help with losing weight because they are high in fiber and low in calories. In both studies, researchers discovered that diet is the crucial aspect in losing weight and is far more important than exercise. In fact, diet is considered to be about 80 percent of the issue in losing weight, and in order to lose weight, it’s necessary to focus on diet.

Mic reported that exercise may not help with losing weight as it was previously thought. Conventional thought said that there was a connection between diet, exercise, and weight loss. Vox health writer Julie Belluz reviewed over 60 studies on the correlation between exercise and diet. What she discovered is that dieters are being led astray by believing that there is a correlation between exercise and losing weight.
She said that people like celebrity fitness trainers and Michelle Obama are leading dieters astray by telling them that exercise is crucial to weight loss success. Belluz wrote that several of the studies she referenced only showed modest improvement when dieters used exercise alone to lose weight. She also wrote that the process of weight loss has been oversimplified, and dieters are being led astray.
“We’ve long thought of weight loss in simple ‘calories in, calories out’ terms, but this is ‘overly simple.’ Bodies aren’t machines, they’re complicated organisms, and in some ways, exercise can even have a counterintuitive effect on weight loss by making us extra hungry or by telling our body to ‘conserve energy.’ Every reliable expert I’ve ever spoken to on weight loss says the most important thing a person can do is to limit calories in a way they like and can sustain, and focus on eating more healthfully.”
Although exercise is good for health, it is not the path dieters should choose if they want to lose weight, especially if they have a lot of weight to lose. To lose weight successfully, and keep it off for good, it’s a good idea to focus on diet and use exercise to build more muscle and maintain good health.
