Could the Man of Steel be in trouble in Batman v Superman? From set photos, which surfaced on Monday, showing protests and what appeared to be the crowd burning Superman in effigy, we believe he could be.
First, we need to put things into context. At the end of Man of Steel — which is Batman v Superman’s prequel — Superman (Henry Cavill) has an epic fight to defeat his arch enemy, General Zod (Micheal Shannon). During the confrontation, much destruction and loss of life is brought upon Metropolis.
The rumor is that, in Batman v Superman , Batman (Ben Affleck) will be one of the parties who takes Superman to task for his actions. There has been talk of a scene filmed earlier in the summer at the county jail, which could be directly related to this alleged plot.
The Batman v Superman set photos taken by Tim Reinman, which he posted to Twitter on Monday, suggest the Man of Steel could be headed for some hard times trying to convince people that he is the good guy. You be the judge.

Considering we don’t know much about the Batman v Superman plot, other than we will see both superheroes together on the big screen for the first time, this is all conjecture at this time. What we do know is that director Zack Snyder was heavily criticized for the violent encounter and many fans were turned off because of it.
In a August 2013 interview with Japan Times, Snyder addressed the controversial scene.
“I wanted the movie to have a mythological feeling. In ancient mythology, mass deaths are used to symbolize disasters. In other countries like Greece and Japan, myths were recounted through the generations, partly to answer unanswerable questions about death and violence. In America, we don’t have that legacy of ancient mythology. Superman is probably the closest we get. It’s a way of recounting the myth.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice flies into theaters on a date far, far away, March 25, 2016. Stay tuned for all the latest from the movie’s set.
