Jennifer Lawrence Nude Photos Will Not Be Shown In Art Exhibit

Jennifer Lawrence stole the spotlight last week for all the wrong reasons. For those who haven’t been in the loop recently, nude photos allegedly of the Hunger Games actress made its rounds on 4Chan, Reddit, Imgur and other social media platforms in a massive celebrity hack they dubbed the “Fappening”. Lawrence isn’t the sole victim of this whole controversial event. Model Kate Upton also reportedly had some, and McKayla Maroney allegedly had a few taken when she was still underage.

Needless to say, the whole thing was a mess, and Jennifer, who hasn’t been seen in public since the nudes were released, is presumed to be having a difficult time dealing with the whole thing. Fortunately, the world has made it a little bit less stressful for Jennifer Lawrence, as few positive angles have come out of this whole controversy. First, Reddit bans /r/fappening, removing the chance for any massive sharing of the images to occur on the popular site. Second, the Florida art exhibit “No Delete”, which promised to publicly portray the pictures will no longer do so.

A press release by the Cory Allen Contemporary Art(CACA) a collaborator for the project, detailed the events that preceded their decision to stop the photo release on “No Delete”. CACA cited “public outrage” for the cancellation, indicating that multiple online petitions have swayed them from exhibiting Lawrence and other celeb’s nudes.

Public outrage over the announcement to exhibit the hacked nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton by artist XVALA at a St. Petersburg art gallery next month has altered the artist’s and gallery’s plans, via a series of persuasive online petitions. The LA artist who planned to display the newly leaked images of celebrities Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton, along with other celebrity compromised images, will, instead, feature the artist’s self-shot, life-size, nude images next month at Cory Allen Contemporary Art (CACA).

Prior to the cancellation, the “No Delete” event was criticized by fans on social media, commenting that the move to feature Jennifer’s nudes on the exhibit was in a way, taking advantage of the distress of Fappening victims. According to the Washington Post, CACA organizer Cory Allen did not look into the legal ramifications of exhibiting Jennifer’s photos, even though the Lawrence’s lawyers have threatened anyone guilty of distributing the photos.

Although Jennifer’s pics are definitely still out there, Lawrence can slightly celebrate on the fact that the art organizers will no longer feature the photos on a public platform.

Jennifer Lawrence reprises her role as Katniss Everdeen on Mockingjay Part 1, set to open on theaters this year.
