Gisele Bundchen is fighting back against the haters in an Under Armour ad which makes public criticism of her campaign for the company a focal point.
In the 60-second spot, the world's highest-paid model doesn’t utter a single word but instead throws kicks and punches at a heavy bag inside a warehouse.
All the while, social media comments about her, and specifically her endorsement deal with the brand, are projected on the walls, serving as motivation:
Among the shade thrown at Gisele on Twitter:
- “Is modeling now a sport?”
- “Under Armour. WTF?”
- “Stick to modeling sweetheart.“
- "Gisele is soooooo fake.”
- “She’s old.”
The commercial is the latest in Under Armour’s “I Will What I Want” campaign, and it seems to thrive on the 34-year-old's surprisingly high number of detractors.
Some of her public comments, about Gisele breastfeeding or being a working mom, or blaming Tom Brady's teammates after the Super Bowl, sparked controversy.
Bundchen has, in the eyes of some, come across as arrogant and out of touch, becoming something of a polarizing figure along the lines of Gwyneth Paltrow.
Seems like that only fuels her fire, though.
