Jessica Meets J Cole in Jamaica

And we are back!

Just a few weeks ago, as we were figuring out new content to bring to the site, we asked a few readers what type of stories they’d like to see more of, and almost everyone said they wanted us to bring back those ‘I Met A Celebrity’ story.

You asked, and we answered!

Since the love for Jermaine Cole runs deep within our readers, are first story comes from Jessica, who met J. Cole on New Years in Jamaica.

Hi Necole,

I’m Jessica from Jamaica and I want to share my story of when I met J. Cole with you.

For the past two years, at the beginning of each year, J. Cole visits a small parish in Jamaica called Portland. Last year while he was here, he went to a party with two other men and he chilled with some ordinary Jamaicans at a bar like they had been friends for a long time. He partied, took pictures with fans and acted like a regular individual. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to meet him that year.

I was at a beach in Portland called Frenchman’s Cove, on Sunday January 1 when I met him for the very first time. When I went to the beach, my family and I took a table for ourselves. We were there having a family moment until I decided to take a walk along the beach by myself. Upon walking, I saw this “regular looking” guy sitting on a chair with three other men. No fancy stuff, just a plain white merino and a pair of shorts (NO SHOES).

Two of the men that were there with him, were regular guys from Portland that I knew personally. He only brought one person to the beach with him. I recognized J. Cole but I was saying in my mind, “This can’t be J. Cole dressed like a regular guy in Jamaica.” I turned back and ran up to him and asked, “Are you J. Cole?” he laughed and said, “Maybe.” Necole, I could not believe I just exchanged words with J. Cole. I couldn’t do anything but give him a big ol’ hug. Lol. Luckily I brought my phone with me, so I snapped a pic. I said, “enjoy my hometown, J.Cole and thanks for the photo” to him before I strolled off. Necole, J. Damn Cole said to me, “Keep making this place beautiful. Call me Jermaine.” Girl, I almost pissed my panties!

I could not believe. My fingers are trembling at this very moment because I’m still in disbelief. He is by far one of the most humblest celebrity I’ve met in Portland. I’m talking about from Rihanna to Drake. Jermaine is family here. He deserves whatever success is coming his way. Such a humble soul.

I LOVE HIM.

Aww! We love him too!
