Rachel McAdams Is About to Have Her Best Damn Year Since 2005?





With five movies set for this year, McAdams will be quite the busy girl. Here are a few reasons why 2015 may be the year of Rachel.





1. She will star Season 2 of True Detective.



Three California police officers (Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams) and a career criminal (Vince Vaughn) must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder. (No official release date announced yet)



2. Every Thing Will Be Fine with James Franco





Plot: James Franco is starring in the film as a man responsible for the death of a young boy and who channels his guilt into a successful writing career. McAdams will play Franco’s girlfriend, who has to deal with his deteriorating mental health.



3. She is helping bring The Little Prince to life.





The first ever adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s iconic masterpiece is getting the big screen treatment. McAdams stars alongside Marion Cotillard, James Franco, and Jeff Bridges in the stop-motion animation flick about a child prodigy, which is set for an October release in France.



4. Cameron Crowe chose her for his latest untitled project (which also stars Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper)





Plot: A Military contractor (Cooper) returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs – the U.S. Space program in Honolulu, Hawaii – and reconnects with a long-ago love (McAdams) while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog (Stone). Alec Baldwin, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, and Jay Baruchel also star in the film which is scheduled to be released on May 29th.




5. Stars with Jake Gyllenhaal in Southpaw.





Plot: Gyllenhall plays a junior middleweight champion of the world who suffers a tragedy and must regain the respect and love of his daughter. Also starring Forest Whitaker, 50 Cent, and Tyrese Gibson. Releases July 31



6. Stars with Mark Ruffalo and Michael Keaton in Spotlight.





Plot: The Spotlight team would sacrifice everything to expose the Boston Archdiocese’s systemic cover up of sexual abuse of children by ordained priests. Also starring Liev Schreiber, Stanley Tucci, John Slattery, Brian d’Arcy James, Billy Crudup, Jamey Sheridan.
