It’s here – the night of the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) awards!
Now that the Golden Globes have already been given out for the year, the SAG Awards are primarily known as the award ceremony that brings fans and critics one step closer to the Oscars.
Even though winning a Screen Actors Guild award does not necessarily mean a particular actor or film is an automatic shoe-in with the Academy, it does increase the chances.
In this year’s race, Boyhood and Birdman are going head-to-head. Actors and actresses from both of those films won Golden Globes earlier this month, so many people will be eagerly anticipating how they perform at the SAG Awards on Sunday night.
Keep in mind, though, that the stakes are slightly higher with the SAG Awards in comparison to the Golden Globes. For instance, comedy and drama were two separate categories at the SAG Awards, which is why two actors and two actresses were able to walk away with the leading awards in their respective categories.
That is not the case with the Screen Actors Guild Awards, however, since there is only category – just like in the Oscars.
Fans of the hit HBO series, Boardwalk Empire, will also get a chance to root for the show for the last time during an awards ceremony.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the SAG Awards will be broadcast at 8 P.M. on TBS and TNT as well as online.
Below you will find a list of the nominees.
However, this list will be updated throughout the evening to reflect the winners of each category in real-time.
