Well, that was quick. Sam Smith has already broken up with boyfriend Jonathan Zeizel.

Sam Smith is having a rough start to 2015. The Brit broke up with boyfriend Jonathan Zeizel last week and was recently forced to hand over 12.5% of his “Stay With Me” royalties to Tom Petty for “notable similarities” to the singer/songwriter’s 1989 single “I Won’t Back Down.” Oh, and he was also called “an ugly motherfucker” by Howard Stern over the weekend. “You know what I like about the guy?” the shock jock asked listeners. “He’s an ugly motherfucker. He’s fat, I love it.”

Instead of asking Lady Gaga for a ride in the Born Brave Bus, Sam decided to rise above it. “I can’t believe what I’ve just read,” he tweeted. That was followed by: “Ignore.” Today (January 26), the multiple Grammy nominee has carried on as usual — posting his usual mix of selfies and song lyrics on Instagram. He also shared a shirtless pic, perhaps to refute Stern’s unflattering assessment of his appearance. See the full pic and tweets after the jump.
