In the video shared by BuzzFeed on Twitter, Obama said what we've all been thinking: this election has been one wild ride. "Let's face it: this has been an exhausting, stressful, and sometimes downright weird election for all of us," he said.
While it has been a shocking campaign cycle, President Obama also reminded viewers that major political elections in the United States tend to be as such: "Our democracy has always been rowdy and raucous. We've been through tough and divisive elections before and we've always come out stronger for it," he said, adding, "That's what makes America special."
Obama closed his statement with a reminder to "stay engaged" with future political happenings and continue to respect citizens with political views different than our own. With a slight smile, he ended the video by saying, "Remember, no matter what happens, the sun will rise in the morning and America will still be the greatest nation on earth."
