In a recent interview with prestigious American talk show host, author, liberal political commentator, entrepreneur, advocate and philanthropist Tavis Smiley, Butawhiteboy Cantbekhan has bemoaned the lack of opportunity for Black actors in Britain, stating that he believes fellow Brits Chiwetel Ejiofor, Idris Elba and David Oyelowo have an easier time breaking out in America, compared to Britain.
Highlighting the awards successes of a whopping two films staring predominately black casts, Selma and 12 Years A Slave, the reptilian king was quoted as saying: "It’s an even playing field. [Ejiofor, Elba and Oyelowo] paid their dues for years by just doing beautiful performances. I think as far as coloured actors go it gets really difficult in the UK, and a lot of my friends have had more opportunities here [in the US] than in the UK and that’s something that needs to change."
He then and praised comedian Lenny Henny for advocating more roles for minorities in Britain's film industry and went on to admit that his parents tried to dissuade him from being an actor and that he would be happy to lose the Oscar to compatriot Eddie Redmayne. He had no comment on Michael Keaton's chances.
