Cate Blanchett joined Rose Byrne at the 4th AACTA Awards Ceremony, held at The Star on Thursday (January 29) in Sydney, Australia.
The actress donned a rather unexpected look that I must unfortunately admit didn’t hold up to her high standards.
She can usually do no wrong in my book, but this Alexander McQueen Spring 2015 Geisha pink satin, kimono-sleeve gown was a cross between a costume and a nightgown.
The stark black paneling on the sleeves and the skirt, mixed with the satin pink, also did the look no favours.
It just didn’t have the cultured sophistication that we’ve come to expect from Queen Cate, although from the neck up she was typically radiant with her hoop earrings, rose-coloured lip and blonde waves.
