Amanda Bynes is estranged from her parents, and recently failed in her attempt to undo the conservatorship through which they legally control her estate.
Despite reports that she is broke and homeless - speculation fueled by the night she spent on that mall couch - she seems to have some access to money.
Someone's paying the bill for the phone she's using to relentlessly tweet about Caleb Pusey, as well as the star's Uber account ... which begs the question:
Are her parents using the ride-sharing service to monitor her?
Since she was released from a psychiatric facility in October, she's been hard to keep track of. For us, anyway. Not for her parents, thanks to Uber's GPS.
According to reports, her parents set her up with an account for the car service, which she uses from her phone, both of which they're paying for.
“Amanda’s mom, Lynn, set up the Uber car service on her daughter’s cell phone,” an insider said. “Uber can take Amanda anywhere she needs to go."
And plenty of places she more likely doesn't need to go.
"It’s paid for out of Amanda’s estate, [via] conservatorship. This allows [her] to have independence, but at the same time her parents can track where she goes.”
Bynes has been living at a hotel in Glendale, California.
It's not clear who's fronting that cost, but Amanda’s parents are getting ready to move back to Texas, as planned, because "they feel they’ve done all they can.”
Hopefully someone can do more, because it's needed.
