Kim Kardashian Takes Paris by Storm During Fashion Week

Kim Kardashian flaunted her gorgeous figure while out and about in Paris on Wednesday. The reality star rocked a sheer black number as she walked around the city with her mother, Kris Jenner, and Corey Gamble. The trio are currently in France ahead of Paris Fashion Week. Earlier in the day, Kim made headlines when she was harassed by self-proclaimed prankster Vitalii Sediuk outside L'Avenue restaurant. After kissing Kim's infamous butt, her security team was quick to tackle him to the ground. "My security @PascalDuvier is a G," she tweeted in response to the incident. Sadly, this isn't the first time the Ukrainian native has gotten physical with a celebrity. Not only did he almost knock down the mother of two back in 2014, but he also recently ambushed Gigi Hadid after a Milan fashion show.

Louis Tomlinson's Sister Makes Sure You Get the Perfect Manicure Every Time

Ask any girl and she'll tell you the worst thing about having to execute her own manicure is knowing that one hand will always turn out worse than the other. But One Direction star Louis Tomlinson's sister has helped come up with a great way of making sure your self-mani always looks on point.

Seventeen-year-old Lottie Tomlinson has teamed up with Nails Inc for this spray on metallic look named Good as Gold. The can was released 10 weeks ago in the UK and now it's available for us too exclusively via Sephora Middle East. The brand - which is launching an e-commerce website next month - is stocking the polish as part of Nails Inc's AW16 collection which Lottie serves as ambassador for.

The social media influencer (she has 2 million followers!) will also be collaborating on Lips Inc with them. Selena Gomez asked Lottie to be her tour makeup artist when she discover her talents backstage at The X Factor in the UK. This teen is going to go a long way!

Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman's Friendship, From Down Under to Top of the A-List

Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman aren't just fellow Aussie actresses; they're also best friends. The ladies have been close since attending high school at the Phillip Street Theatre in Sydney, and their friendship is evident at movie premieres and award shows to this day. In 1991, they starred together in the Australian independent film Flirting. Of her relationship with Naomi, Nicole has said that they are "very, very good friends and have maintained that through so many things," adding, "I think that's really rare, particularly for actresses, and I take a lot of pride in that." Naomi has also revealed that the two share "naughty wicked senses of humor" and that while they "definitely go to glamorous dinner parties" they can also "sit in a room and motormouth each other." In honor of their decades-long friendship, here are Nicole and Naomi's sweetest photos.

Kate Hudson Opens Up About Her Relationship With Her Estranged Father: "I Forgive Him"

Kate Hudson has an enviably close bond with her mother, Goldie Hawn, and Goldie's longtime partner, Kurt Russell, but her relationship with her biological father has always been much more strained. In June 2015, the actress's biological father, musician Bill Hudson, slammed her and her brother, Oliver, in a harsh statement to the Daily Mail after Oliver criticized him with an Instagram post on Father's Day. "I say to them now, 'I set you free.' I had five birth children, and I now consider myself a father of three," Bill said. "I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own . . . [Oliver] is dead to me now. As is Kate."

Despite his words, Kate is trying her best to move forward, which she opened up about during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM Wednesday morning. "I think forgiveness in any aspect is something that is complex," she told the radio show host. "It is the greatest tool to be able to separate that attachment. So for me, I recognize whatever those issues are is something he has to live with. That must be painful for him and I forgive him."

Kate noted that her mother "never spoke poorly" of Bill, and also reflected on what it was like to grow up with Kurt as her father figure instead. "The trust I got from [Kurt] in terms of his dependability was priceless for me. I think when you grow up with parents like I did, competitiveness in this world is like a 'no, no,'" she said. "You get it right away. Kurt was great with that stuff when we were growing up. He is so honest, so brutally honest. I love him so much; he is just a great guy. He is an original. He doesn't buy into things." Kate recently attended the Toronto International Film Festival with Kurt by her side, after telling Ellen DeGeneres that working with him on their new film, Deepwater Horizon, was "beautifully wistful."

The Biggest Onstage Celebrity Falls and Mishaps That Will Make You Want to Laugh and Cry

And it isn't just the stars themselves who can get hurt - sometimes audience members and spectators get injured in the process. Read through to see the biggest onstage fumbles!

Jennifer Aniston Sticks By Justin Theroux After His Brad and Angelina Split Comments

After having John Krasinski and Emily Blunt over at their NYC apartment to watch the presidential debate on Monday, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were seen making their way through the busy streets of Manhattan. On Wednesday, the couple, who recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary, kept things casual in sunglasses and jeans and appeared to be in a good mood as they exited a building.

Jennifer's outing comes just two days after Justin weighed in on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's recent split. In an interview with Business Insider, the actor called it "terrible news" and said it was "nonsense" that his wife was being thrown into the middle of the drama. Jennifer's BFF, Courteney Cox, also came to her defense on Tuesday, telling ET she isn't happy with people dragging her friend into Brad and Angelina's split, adding, "It's not about her."

Anti-Vax Mom’s Wake-Up Call: All Three Children Sick With Deadly And Preventable Disease

Child getting a vaccine

Kristen O’Meara, a self-proclaimed anti-vax mom, had done tons of research regarding vaccines and the potential risks associated with vaccinating children. After her research, this anti-vax mom made the decision not to vaccinate her three daughters. Unfortunately, this mother now believes her decision was a mistake. In fact, this anti-vax mom received a wake-up call when her 5-year-old and 3-year-old twin daughters, herself, and her husband got sick with the rotavirus.

According to NY Mag, Kristen O’Meara claims her entire family was sick with the virus for several weeks. This anti-vax mother has admitted to putting her daughters at risk with her decision not to have them vaccinated. She even reports feeling extremely guilty for not getting her daughters vaccinated.

“It was awful and it didn’t have to happen because I could have had them vaccinated. I felt guilty, I felt really guilty.”

All three of Kristen O’Meara’s daughters have been fully vaccinated after following an “aggressive” schedule in order to get them up to date with their vaccine. This anti-vax mother revealed the decision to get her girls vaccinated ended up costing her a few of her friendships.

“I wish that I had taken more time to research both sides. I wanted to share my personal story, and if it does help someone change their mind, then that’s great.”

NY Mag also reports that the number of parents who refuse to vaccinate their children has risen by 87 percent. This steep rise also includes parents who are asking to have vaccines delayed or spread out. These parents are asking pediatricians to space out the vaccines and give them in a pattern that is not the recommended CDC pattern.

The question is – why are more and more parents refusing to vaccinate their children if they don’t have a medical reason for doing so? Why are these parents saying no to a vaccine that could prevent the whooping cough or polio? NY Mag makes a point to mention the fact that all evidence points to the fact that even if a vaccinated child contracts a disease that he/she was vaccinated for, he/she is less likely to die than a child who was not vaccinated.

Reports suggest that parents are starting to believe that vaccines are either going to harm their children or that they are not necessary. These parents believe the immune systems of their children are capable of fighting off these ailments without needing a vaccine. Statistics also show that 61 percent of pediatricians refuse to continue care after a parent continues to refuse vaccines.

Just What is the Rotavirus, Anyway?

Rotavirus is a virus that attacks a person’s intestinal track. A person can get this infection multiple times, but it is typically the first case of the infection that is the worst. The most common symptoms of this infection include an upset something and diarrhea.

Rotavirus is exceptionally dangerous – and even deadly – for babies and young children. Children who have this virus need to be monitored closely as it is easy for them to become dehydrated. Dehydration is a health issue that occurs when the child’s body loses more water than it is able to replace. When this happens, it can lead to all sorts of other health problems.

According to WebMD, this virus is very easy to spread. Once one child gets the infection, it is extremely common for any children who come in contact with the virus – who are not vaccinated – to also get the virus.

Just How Effective Is The Vaccine?

Before the rotavirus vaccine was introduced, the infection was responsible for 200,000 emergency room visits, 55,000 hospitalizations, and between 60 to 65 deaths in the United States every year, according to WebMD. Worldwide, it results in two million hospitalizations and more than 500,000 deaths in children under the age of five every year. While older children and even adults can get the virus, it is much more deadly for children under the age of five.

Studies reveal the rotavirus vaccine is capable of preventing 74 percent of infections. The bigger picture is the fact that it prevents 98 percent of severe infections. This just reiterates the fact that the vaccine could be the difference between the virus being deadly for a child or just a mild upset stomach. In one hospital in Massachusetts, for example, the number of people being hospitalized with this virus dropped from 65 people to 3 in a timeframe of two years.

Ok, So… Is The Vaccine Safe?

Before the rotavirus vaccine was approved, it was tested and deemed to be safe on more than 70,000 children. An earlier version of the vaccine called RotaShield, however, was removed from the market after two years of use because it created a small risk of a condition called intussusception which causes a small bowl to fold back onto the intestines creating a bowel obstruction.

The RotaTeq and Rotarix are the two vaccines used today and they do not have any known risks and are considered to be safe. More importantly, the only children who are encouraged not to receive the vaccine are children who have an allergic reaction to the first round of the vaccine.

What do you think about the wake-up call this anti-vax mother received? More importantly, are you for or against vaccines? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Let These Photos of President Obama at a Conference Ease Your Debate Hangover

If you, like most of the nation, couldn't get through Monday night's first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump without a sizable amount of wine, please accept these amazing photos of Barack Obama as our humble offering of support. Shortly before Hillary and Donald battled it out, the president had a much more lighthearted time attending the 2016 White House Tribal Nations Conference, which provides tribal leaders with the opportunity to directly interact with members of the White House Council on Native American affairs, in DC. While there, he was gifted with a blanket named "Rhythm of the Land" and a woven headpiece. "The blanket is to remember those we honor, those we lost, and those who are going to build our futures," National Congress of American Indians President Brian Cladoosby said before wrapping Obama in the black-and-red blanket. The president then called it "an amazing honor" and appeared to exchange sweet smiles with the leaders on stage.

Demi Lovato's About To Announce a Dubai Gig and Here's How We Know

On Tuesday it was announced Chris Brown will be taking to the stage in Dubai for RedFest 2017's first day, but it's Day 2 we're more excited about at POPSUGAR Middle East.

It looks like Demi Lovato will be headlining final day of festivities when the event returns next year. Running Feb 2-3, Tove Lo, Alessia Cara and Mike Posner will be accompanying Demi that day according to a poster on Ticketmaster.

"Cooler Than Me" hit maker Mike returned to the music scene recently with the smash "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," so there's no doubt electronic fans will be buying tickets even if they're not keen on the former Disney star's tunes. Meanwhile Alessia and Tove have hit up the charts with their respective tracks "Wild Things" and "Not On Drugs."

Day 1 headliner Chris was due to appear at White Dubai in April but he didn't end up taking to the stage at one of Dubai's most popular nightclubs. The music star will play to crowds February 2 and joining him are Australian pop duo The Veronicas and up-and-coming singer Daya.

RedFest DXB announced on Twitter Tuesday: "We are excited to announce Chris Brown as Day One Headliner for Virgin Radio RedfestDXB in association with Emirates Airline and Jumeirah."

The 27-year-old last played in the UAE at Meydan Racecourse in 2012 and with RedFest DXB only launching in 2014, this will be his debut at the Media City Ampitheatre event. In the past the likes of Rita Ora, The Vamps and Adam Lambert have been on the line-up.

Tickets go on sale for Virgin Megastore members only on Wednesday September 28 and they are generally released the following day atwww.ticketmaster.ae.

Day 1

Day 2:

Meet the Only Person on Earth Who Isn't a Fan of Justin Trudeau: Prince George

When Prince George met President Barack Obama back in April, he ensured that everyone in the room knew who was in charge by showing up in his pajamas and ignoring Obama to play with his rocking horse instead. And if Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, thought that the 3-year-old royal might be a little more favorable to America's neighbors to the north, he thought wrong. After touching down at the Victoria Airport in British Columbia on Saturday for their long-awaited tour, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Charlotte, and Prince George were greeted on the runway by the prime minister and his wife, Sophie. Justin, who is universally loved by many (including George's uncle, Prince Harry), squatted down to ask George for a high five, only to be harshly rebuffed with a shake of the head that we can only interpret as "LOL, no." At least we can add another unimpressed moment to George's long, long list.

Celiac Disease Is Not Caused By Early Weaning According To Recent Study

Celiac Disease Is Not Caused By Early Weaning According To Recent Study|Primary Image by Chris Hondros/Getty

Researchers in Sweden have released the results of an extensive study debunking the long held belief that early weaning is the cause of celiac disease. Instead of ending breastfeeding early, what did the study indicate was the actual trigger for celiac disease?

For years, there was a belief that weening a child from breastmilk early was the cause of celiac disease. Turns out, this is not the case. A recent Swedish study has revealed that the amount of gluten consumed is more apt to cause celiac disease than weening early or giving children gluten at an early age.

Dietician and doctoral student Andrén Aronson of Lund University in Sweden released a statement based on her thesis that it was the amount of gluten given to a child that triggers the disease.

“Our findings indicate that the amount of gluten triggers the disease.”

In addition, the study revels that it does not matter what age a child is given gluten. The study discovered that children between the age of nine and twelve months are more apt to develop celiac disease if given a higher amount of gluten. A child under two, given more than five grams of gluten was more likely to develop celiac disease than one that was given a smaller amount of gluten.

“The timing of the introduction of gluten, on the other hand, does not seem to be of great significance.”

The Local Sweden, reported that the study, entitled the Teddy project, followed 8700 children in Sweden, Finland, Germany and the United States. While in the United States, about one percent of all people have celiac disease, with an estimated two to three million people that have gone undiagnosed. In Sweden, that number jumps to between two and three percent of the entire population that has celiac disease. It is not surprising that there is such an interest in the Nordic country in uncovering the cause of celiac disease.

What is celiac disease? According to the Celiac Disease Foundation, celiac is an autoimmune disorder that affects about 1 in 100 people worldwide.

“Celiac disease is a serious genetic autoimmune disorder where the ingestion of gluten leads to damage in the small intestine.

Those who have celiac disease cannot tolerate the protein gluten. What happens when a person with the disease eats gluten, and where is the protein found?

“When people with celiac disease eat gluten (a protein found in wheat, rye and barley), their body mounts an immune response that attacks the small intestine.”

This incurable disease requires the patient to eat gluten free for the rest of their lives. Found in items from bread to toothpaste, if anyone with celiac consume gluten, this could become the cause for additional illness including intestinal lymphoma. Thus, the need for those with celiac disease to adhere to a strict gluten free diet is mandatory.

This is not to be mistaken for the gluten free bandwagon that that has a lot of people from celebrities to diet books authors claiming that bread and pasta will make them healthier. For those with celiac disease, consuming even a small bit of gluten is very serious. For anyone else, consuming any amount of gluten does not have the same consequences.

Equipped with this new information, Aronson intends on furthering her study to include other countries. She is focused on trying to uncover why the percent of people in Sweden with celiac disease is much higher than in other countries. She is also going to explore how beneficial bacteria, found in such food as Greek yoghurt, may play a part in preventing or celiac disease.

If you have a baby, have you avoided weening your baby early in fear of celiac disease? Share your story below!

Why Lindsay Lohan Won't Forget Meeting This 9-Year-Old Syrian Refugee in Turkey

Lindsay Lohan has urged the world to put more focus on the refugee situation in the Middle East.

The 30-year-old actress posted on her Instagram page on Sunday, showing a picture of the country's flags blowing in the wind in Bosphorus.

It was a part of a visited that involved her visiting a local hospital as well as one family's home.

"Let us start paying some attention," she posted on the social media platform, adding: "'Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love' - Mother Teresa. #Start #helping the #refugees suffering in #Syria. As promised.#istanbul 🙏 stop #massacreinaleppo."

The following day, Lindsay added snaps of herself bonding with a single-parent unit that are struggling to make ends meet. Her captions spoke of her concern for how the world continued to let these people go without help.

"@a_boynukalin#RefugeesWelcome #Turkey and#Compassion Meet the Hussein Family. The father, Mohammad, was injured severely in Aleppo and his wife left him and her three kids after they migrated to Turkey," she wrote. "The lovely girl is Heya (9) and her twin brother is Leys. The Sultanbeyli Municipality is covering their rent and kitchen expenses but the conditions of the house are very bad. The older brother was not in the house with us because although he is 17, he had to work in order to take better care of his family. #theworldisbiggerthan5."

The final hashtag she used was in reference to a phrase the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan often uses which speaks of how five members of the Council can unfairly veto any decision.

It's clear that Lindsay took a particular shine to the little girl in the family though.

She posted: "I can't forget Heya whom I met during my visit to the Hussein family. She couldn't care less about our gifts to her, whose mother has gone. She held me more and more tight when she sat on my lap. I sniffed her hair, took her hands and held her tight.

"I understood at that moment once again that we can do more for each other, that we should do more for each other. And we can start by giving support to #Turkey which did its part in this huge human tragedy called Syria by welcoming 3 million refugees. We should do more, starting today... #RefugeesWelcome#MassacreinAleppo#theworldisbiggerthan5 #love not #ignorancekills."

Will and Grace Reunion Video is The Best Thing to Come Out of The First Presidential Debate

In a video released hours before last night's U.S. presidential debate, the stars of the early 2000s sitcom Will & Grace reunited for the first time in a decade, and the result is totally hilarious.

Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally all appeared in the 9-minute-long video, in which Will and Grace try to convince Karen and Jack not to vote for Donald Trump. In the hours before the video was released, the stars hinted on social media that a reunion was in the works, but no one was sure what was to come.

"The closest person in your life, Rosario, is a Mexican American," Grace points out to Karen. "She's not Mexican," Will responds, "She's from El Salvador."

"What's the difference?" Grace jokes. "I love what he's doing with Rosario's people," Karen claims, "how do you think I got the idea to hire an architect to keep her out of the main house?"

Playing on many of Donald Trump's craziest ideas, this video is exactly what you need to recover from last night's debate.

Zoom In on Jennifer Aniston's Necklace, and You'll Definitely Get the Message

While some might count evil-eye jewelry as a trend, it probably means a lot to the wearer. And while there are plenty of stylish designs - Jennifer Aniston's necklace included - many cultures view the symbol as protection or a curse. Of course, we don't know exactly what message Jen is sending with hers. From a style perspective, the piece just looks plain cool with a pair of boyfriend jeans, Gucci loafers, and a ribbed tank. But perhaps Jen didn't just choose her pendant because it brings out the blue shade of her denim.

With all the talk in the media about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's divorce, many are turning to Jen, Brad's ex. If we didn't know any better, we'd guess Jen's jewels say, "I'm just living my life." Simple and smart, just like the rest of her outfit. Read on to see it from all angles, then shop for an evil eye of your own. Whether you put it on for armor or just because you like it, it's clearly an eye-catching touch.

Katherine Heigl Shows Off Her Growing Baby Bump During a Walk With Josh Kelley

During a stroll around sunny LA on Saturday, the Doubt star showed off her growing baby bump as she made her way around town with Josh. The outing is just the latest glimpse we've gotten of Katherine's baby bump so far. Iranian Women Get on Their Bikes After Fatwa Bans Cycling

Last week, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of Iran issued a fatwa on women riding bicycles in the country. According to The Independent, biking "exposes society to corruption" and "contravenes women's chastity," but women in Iran were quick to defy the fatwa, and take to the streets with their bikes.

Using the hashtag #IranianWomenLoveCycling, people from Iran and from around the world are coming together to stand up for the rights of women in Iran.

Medical Malpractice Causes Thousands Of Complications Per Year In The U.S. – ‘Preventable Harm’ Is One Of The Leading Cause Of Deaths In A Hospital, Claims Research

Medical Mistakes Cause 200K To 440K Deaths Per Year In The U.S. - 'Preventable Harm' Is One Of The Leading Cause Of Deaths In A Hospital [Report]

Medical errors or malpractice kill way more people in the U.S. each year than some of the most dreaded diseases. While actual figures are near impossible to get, persistent reports indicate hundreds of thousands of patients suffer due to preventable medical harm in American hospitals.

Journal of Patient Safety had claimed in 2013 that the professional medical fraternity is responsible for the death of more people than quite a few epidemics. The report claimed between 210,000 and 440,000 patients who visit the hospitals for medical attention end up suffering from some type of preventable harm. The gross negligence or medical malpractice contributes to the death of a large number of individuals, the study added.

According to The Ellsworth American, medical errors or preventable harm has been one of the top three leading causes of death in the United States and entails a huge monetary loss. The study claims medical malpractice sits right below heart disease, which is the number two cause, while cancer continues to remain the number one killer in America. Preventable medical harm is way ahead of respiratory illness, which kills 150,000 people each year.

Medical Malpractice: Errors Persist In Hospitals Despite Efforts To Improve

250,000 People A Year Die From Medical Errors: Now Third-Leading Cause Of Death In U.S., Study Suggests

The numbers are merely an approximation owing to the poor classification standards, perhaps deliberately, adopted by the medical fraternity. According to experts, “medical errors” are never classified as such. This is primarily because there has never been a separate classification on death certificates, and neither do annual statistics dealing with hospital deaths specifically mention that the patient died due to medical mistakes or preventable harm.

Nonetheless, some of the most common types of medical mistakes or malpractices can be observed in the majority of the hospitals scattered across the U.S. Besides the horrible handwriting, medical professionals often poorly or incorrectly diagnose a patient and even put him on incorrect medication, which worsens the situation. There have been uncorroborated cases involving patients who had been wrongly operated on or had undergone completely unnecessary procedures. Many of the patients have been gravely injured, while few even died unnecessarily. A few experts pointed out the high chances of blood contamination owing to the close proximity of dialysis machines. A single drop of contaminated blood can cause severe complications, leaving the patient with more troubles than they arrived with.

The 2013 report was compiled by John T. James, a toxicologist at NASA’s space center in Houston. James runs an advocacy organization called Patient Safety America. He is the author of A Sea of Broken Hearts. Incidentally, his 19-year-old-son was allegedly the victim of “negligent hospital care.” James’ estimates are way higher than put forth by the Institute of Medicine (IoM). According to the IoM, close to 100,000 patients die each year owing to poor medical care or mistakes committed by medical professionals.

Many experts claim the real figures might never surface because of gross inaccuracies in medical records, and the strong reluctance shown by quite a few healthcare providers to report deaths due to preventable harm. In essence, a large number of organizations might be filing the death of the patient with an inaccurate, but a lot more plausible, reason, rather than mentioning he or she could have lived if not for the medical mistakes the staff committed.

Interestingly, the medical fraternity does have an unofficial coding structure that identifies deaths due to medical mistakes. In medical vernacular, such incidents are chalked under “adverse events.” They are screened using a method referred to as the “Global Trigger Tool.” Those interested to spot such deaths have to be experts in the medical field because they have to meticulously hunt for notations that strongly imply signs of infection, injury or error.

Deaths due to medical errors could account for about one-sixth of all deaths that occur in the United States each year. However, there are very little organized efforts to force healthcare providers to compile and publish statistics. As American lives are at stake, should Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump debate on the issue?

Pippa Middleton's iCloud Account Was Hacked, Including Personal Photos of the Royal Family

Pippa Middleton is reportedly the victim of an iCloud hack. On Friday, The Independent claimed that Pippa's account was illegally accessed by hackers and nearly 3,000 personal images were stolen - including photos of the royal family and nude pictures of her fiancé, James Matthews - adding that her lawyers confirmed the breach and have asked for privacy on behalf of the couple. In addition to photos of Pippa's sister, Kate Middleton, and her husband Prince William, the hackers are reportedly attempting to sell images of Prince George and Prince Charlotte to publications as well; it is believed that the thief is offering the pictures, as well as private messages sent to and from Pippa, as "a quick sale to either a British or U.S. magazine." The news comes just a day after Yahoo confirmed that it was hacked and that "at least 500 million user accounts" were stolen in 2014.

Are Opioids Prescribed By Dentists, Oral Surgeons Contributing To Addiction Epidemic?

Too many dentists prescribe opioids without informing them of how to dispose.

More than six out of 10 overdose deaths in the United States involve an opioid. In less than two decades, nearly half a million people died from drug overdoses, the CDC says. America has an epidemic on her hands, according to the CDC. New information from researchers at the University of Pennsylvania published in the journal Drug and Alcohol Dependence has found that nearly half of the opioids prescribed by dentists and oral surgeons to patients who have had dental surgery, like wisdom tooth removal, are never used by the dental patients.

Common types of opioids are oxycodone (OxyContin), hydrocodone (Vicodin), morphine, and methadone. Overdose deaths from prescription opioid pain relievers has quadrupled since 1999. The CDC says that prescription opioids are a major player in this epidemic.

“We now know that overdoses from prescription opioid pain relievers are a driving factor in the 15-year increase in opioid overdose deaths… Deaths from prescription opioids—drugs like oxycodone, hydrocodone, and methadone—have also quadrupled since 1999.”

According to the researchers at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, patients are more likely to safely dispose of leftover opioid pills if they are specifically given information about pharmacy-based disposal programs.

“The authors suggest if there were more drug disposal kiosks in pharmacies, and if dentists reduced the amount of opioid pills they prescribe following surgery by just a little, it could reduce the mountain of unused pills – and therefore the amount of misuse – significantly,” Medical News Today reported.

Many people aren’t aware that anyone who takes prescription opioids can become addicted to them. In 2014, almost two-million Americans were dependent on or abused prescription opioid painkillers.

When the researchers examined the data from just 79 patients who were prescribed the painkillers following dental impaction surgery, they discovered that those 79 patients ended up with a combined 1,000 pills left over. They write that if this finding were applied to the whole U.S. population, millions of opioid pills prescribed to patients after dental surgery end up unused. They surmised that dentists and oral surgeons are prescribing too many pills per prescription.

“When translated to the broad U.S. population, our findings suggest that more than 100 million opioid pills prescribed to patients following surgical removal of impacted wisdom teeth are not used, leaving the door open for possible abuse or misuse by patients, or their friends or family,” lead author Dr. Brandon Maughan, who was involved in the study as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at the Perelman School of Medicine, said, according to a press release. “Given the increasing concern about prescription opioid abuse in the United States, all prescribers – including physicians, oral surgeons and dental clinicians – have a responsibility to limit opioid exposure, to explain the risks of opioid misuse, and educate patients on proper drug disposal.”

Maughan says that providing a one-page information sheet and a small financial incentive to patients who properly dispose of their unused medications will significantly reduce the number of opioids available to people who struggle with opioid abuse and addiction.

Prof. Elliot V. Hersh of Penn’s School of Dental Medicine co-authored the study and said on average, dentists were prescribing twice as many opioid pills as patients seemed to need.

“Results of our study show within 5 days of surgery, most patients are experiencing relatively little pain, and yet, most still had well over half of their opioid prescription left.”

The research team suggests placing more drug disposal centers within the communities. Disposal kiosks could be placed in in grocery stores, pharmacies, and other places patients visit regularly, the suggested. Prof. Hersh also suggested some changes to prescription writing on the part of dentists.

“Research shows that prescription-strength NSAIDs, like ibuprofen, combined with acetaminophen, can offer more effective pain relief and fewer adverse effects than opioid-containing medications. While opioids can play a role in acute pain management after surgery, they should only be added in limited quantities for more severe pain.”

They say that people who have been found to abuse or overdose on prescription opioids often use leftover pills that had been prescribed for friends or family members for dental surgeries.

A separate study from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health claims that states with legalized medical marijuana experience a decrease in opioid abuse. Some wonder if medical marijuana could someday be used to treat temporary pain from dental surgeries.

Gordon Ramsay Releases New Cookbook, Comes Under Fire From French Chef, Job Remains Secure Despite New Technology

Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen Gordon's Bread Street Kitchen

Gordon Ramsay, the British chef, restaurateur, and the creator of the Hell’s Kitchen television series, is once again set to delight his fans and patrons by sharing his years of experience through an upcoming series of new cookbooks.

Gordon’s Bread Street Kitchen, the first book in the series, will be launched in October and aims to convince readers that it is entirely possible to prepare home-cooked food that tastes exactly like the delicacies served in a top-class restaurant. Gordon Ramsay’s new cookbook will reveal the fresh and seasonal ingredients that will enable cooking enthusiasts to prepare delectable treats that can be enjoyed during breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This is not the first attempt from the famous British chef to bring his unique recipes to the public domain. Previously, Gordon Ramsay published a number of books to share recipes and menu ideas that can be served on a variety of occasions. Additionally, Foods 4 Better Health reports that the chef has earlier appeared on Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Cookery Course, a British television show in which he had shared easy-to-follow recipes that taught aspiring home chefs how to cook delicious food in the right manner.

Apart from being a talented and generous chef, Gordon Ramsay has also earned the reputation of being a strict celebrity chef who unleashes his fiery rage on those who dare to participate and compete in the Hell’s Kitchen cooking competition. In fact, Gordon Ramsay’s caustic critiques and his almost constant stream of expletives have garnered public attention and the show has become as popular as ever.

Hell’s Kitchen has already completed 15 seasons and it has been also renewed for two more seasons, in addition to the upcoming Season 16.

However, Gordon Ramsay’s harsh demeanor on the show has drawn criticism from other famous chefs like Eric Rupert, the French chef who has accused Gordon Ramsay of setting a bad example for the audiences by humiliating the participants in his cooking show. According to People magazine, Eric Ripert, who also follows Buddhism, spoke about how important it is for a chef to keep calm and be humble in some of the most stressful environments.

“I have no problem apologizing on [behalf] of my staff for not behaving the proper way and I teach that to all the sous chefs or whoever has responsibility in the restaurant.”

Apart from facing criticism from his peers, Gordon Ramsay is also facing the prospect of stiff competition from a new team of most unusual chefs: “Robotic Chefs.” Zume Pizza, a Silicon Valley startup, has deployed intelligent robotic machines to work on routine monotonous tasks like preparing dough, adding the toppings, cutting perfect slices, and packaging the pizza.

Zume’s latest initiative is a reflection of the growing trend within Silicon Valley’s food-tech industry to rely heavily on robots and software to cut down costs and gain an advantage in the restaurant industry. Momentum Machines and BistroBot, other food-tech startups, are relying on machines to prepare hamburgers and sandwiches.

Deployment of tools can potentially assist fast-food chains to cut down on costs, but at the moment it seems unlikely that these machines will be able to undertake complex tasks that are conducted by expert chefs like Gordon Ramsey. Additionally, with technology as it is today, a machine would not be able to keep up with the hustle and bustle that is often found in a restaurant kitchen. Moreover, it is doubtful whether a robot would be able to learn from and respond to the instructions of demanding master chefs like Gordon Ramsay who has proved to be a strict mentor to the Hell’s Kitchen contestants who don’t strive to excel.

According to the Daily Mail, Ken Goldberg, the director of the Automation Lab at Berkley’s University of California, had some reassuring words for restaurant workers who might be worried about losing their jobs to the machines.

“Robots may be able to produce simple foods such as pizza, burgers, and sandwiches, but they won’t be taking over restaurants anytime soon because they still struggle with irregular tasks that require fine motor skills, judgment, and taste.”

Victoria Beckham Adds Make-Up Collection To Her Popular Fashion Label

Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder collection

Victoria Beckham, the former Spice Girls member and current fashion designer has teamed with Estée Lauder to launch her new range of make-up products, according to the Mirror.

Earlier, Victoria Beckham had allowed curious make-up enthusiasts to catch a glimpse of her collection when she posted an online video tutorial which showed the “A Mind of Its Own” singer using her upcoming cosmetic products. The Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder collection comprises eye foils, eye shadows, lipsticks, skin brighteners, and bronzers that will be made available in selected stores, Victoria Beckham’s clothing stores, as well as being made available online.

Many women were inspired by the former Spice Girl member’s unique makeup techniques that enabled her to rock several fresh popular looks including smokey eyes, nude lips, and highlighted cheekbones by making the right the right use of cosmetics like kajal and nude lipsticks. In fact, Victoria Beckham is regarded as Britain’s answer to Kim Kardashian, as she is often seen trying out different hair extensions and hairstyles as a way to showcase her avant-garde style.

Now, followers of the “In Your Dreams” singer will be able to make themselves up just like the former Spice Girls star: by not only following her makeup tips, but also by using her newly launched makeup products. Victoria Beckham’s new makeup range, which is especially targeted for women over 40-years-old, has been considered as the perfect addition to her already brilliant clothing range.

Despite her entry into the field of cosmetics, Victoria Beckham is still actively pursuing her passion for fashion by designing lines that catch everyone’s attention at popular fashion shows. Recently, Victoria Beckham’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection was unveiled on the runway at New York Fashion Week. The former model’s trans-seasonal clothing range was so gorgeous that it was considered as one of the most noteworthy ranges amongst the collections that came from reputed designers like Tommy Hilfiger and Jonathan Saunders. According to Perez Hilton, Victoria Beckham’s fashion show was graced by Anna Wintour, Vogue‘s editor-in-chief, who occupied the first row along with the fashion designers husband and son: David Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham. Later, the Beckhams celebrated Victoria’s success by having an after-party at Lucali restaurant.

Back in the 1990s, no one thought to consider that Victoria Beckham, then known as Posh Spice, would achieve fame and glory in any field other than music. In fact, the classiest of all the members of the Spice Girls was known to be a celebrity with a stiff upper lip who rarely wore a smile while making a public appearance. And it seems that that characteristic was not just part of her Spice Girls persona, as Victoria Beckham is still considered somewhat of a “deadpan” for exhibiting a dry sense of humor during interviews.

However, the successful businessperson is well aware of her persona, and she doesn’t take any negative comments to heart as it is her work as a fashion designer that she is most passionate about. In fact, she has won the hearts of her fans by being humorously self-deprecating on television shows like Coming to America, Vogue’s 73 Questions, and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

By being a successful fashion designer, Victoria Beckham has set a benchmark for other celebrities who wish to transition into the world of fashion designing. However, the “Unconditional Love” singer has proved her uniqueness and brilliance by immersing herself in the fashion world rather than merely extending her brand name to clothing lines. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Victoria Beckham has made a name for herself by designing practical and classy collections that meet most her customer’s needs.

Women who appreciate what’s sometimes known as “investment dressing” find more value in buying Victoria Beckham’s products that are appreciated mainly for their practicality. More importantly, it is the fashion designer’s attitude that has made her a winner. Indeed, Victoria Beckham has developed the knack of expressing complex ideas in a simple way through her work and fashion designs. Ultimately, it is her work, and not her music background, that have won her the most accolades within the fashion industry.

Queen Rania and Princess Victoria Have Such Similar Tastes, They Showed Up to an Event in Matching Outfits

You know you're on the same wavelength as your friend when you show up wearing matching outfits. This "twinning" moment happened to Queen Rania and Princess Victoria, when the two ladies attended the 2016 Global Goals Awards Dinner on Tuesday. While Queen Rania wore a black and white dress with black floral detailing, she likely didn't know that her Swedish pal would show up in a similar look. Princess Victoria paired a silky black top with a dark floral skirt that flared out at the sides, and unlike Rania, she accessorized with a bold silver necklace and drop earrings.

When both women stood together for a photo, it was as if they had planned to match. But another - and a lot more believable - reason for their coordinating looks could be that the royals just have really good taste. Read ahead to see their outfits side by side, then shop similar pieces to match your BFF.

Amal and George Clooney Are Helping Educate 250,000 Syrian Refugees

George Clooney and his wife are doing everything they can to help educate Syrian Refugees in Lebanon. Through the Clooney Foundation For Justice the actor and Amal Clooney are determined to educate the misplaced children and a video for the project was unveiled as the couple attended the Leaders Summit For Refugees at the United Nations.

George and Amal want to reach out to the 250,000 young ones who have never seen the inside of a classroom.

"It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, it always starts with one question. Who do you wanna be when you grow up?" the movie star narrates in the clip above. The kids answer "teacher", "architect", "cardiologist", "doctor", "mechanical engineer"…

"For 130 years. SABIS has been teaching kids from all over the world, giving them a first-rate formal education in English," George continues. "The Clooney Foundation For Justice is working with SABIS because of their extraordinary commitment to education in Lebanon and their innovative use of technology for teaching.

"Along with our partners Google, Virgin Unite and The Radcliffe Foundation, our goal is to educate all of the children left out of the system in Lebanon."

The Lebanese Minister For Education and Higher Education explains in the video that education can be given at a high standard at a much lower cost than what the Government is paying for other schools.

And it looks like the kids are having a life-changing experience as part of the program. They explain that they came to the school knowing little English and how grateful they are to have been accepted after being refused by others. Most of their exams are on computers, unlike other schools where they do them on paper and it has taught many of them to be proactive and constructive members of their community.

Watch the video to see the explain how it's not only them they want to benefit from an education. They go home and teach their families English, plus they have ambitions to write books to help other children learn English.

The Weeknd Has New Song and a Completely Revamped Image

We're on the verge of saying hello to the weekend in the UAE but this morning we were forced to say goodbye the The Weeknd as we know him.

The musician has undergone a complete image overhaul and has chopped off his dreadlocks; now he sports a 90s-style high top. The star - real name Abel Tesfaye - also got rid of his Instagram moniker "abelxo", instead switching to the very recognizable "theweeknd." Writing "r.i.p @abelxo" as a caption on one of his pictures, we can't help but wonder what his supermodel girlfriend Bella Hadid thinks of the fresh look.

It comes as the 26-year-old promotes his new single Starboy, a collaboration with Daft Punk. Some fans have expressed their disappointment with the track on Twitter but others were totally excited. Check out a preview of the tune in the gallery's Instagram video.
