It's not often that a woman gets the chance to impress the likes of Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger with her powerhouse vocals - in fact, it would probably be fair to say many of us won't even get showered with applause in our own bathrooms. But that's exactly what happened to this Dubai-based woman when she auditioned for The X Factor 2016.
Ivy Grace Paredes - who hails from the Philippines - made a rather brave song choice with Whitney Houston's All The Man That I Need - but the reaction that she got from the panel made it worth the plane ticket price. Watched by the likes of Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh on the UK show, the 33-year-old mother is said to have been inspired by seeing her fellow country girls 4th Impact do so well on the show.
Ivy's no stranger to performing in public; she has won the UAE's Global Pinoy Singing Idol, plus she belts out tunes at the Regent Palace Hotel and Comedy Junction Bar in Al Mamzar, according to Gulf News.
