One Direction heart throb Zayn Malik admits that he’s much better at singing than talking. Now Daily reports that Zayn, 21, who is engaged to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, says that he prefers to let the bands songs do the talking.
Zayn and his pals Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were brought together by the X Factor in 2010 and have rarely been out of the limelight since. During their shows Zayn’s pals often give speeches to their fans and it was even reported in Inquisitr that the boys often nip to the bathroom when Liam Payne is addressing the fans.
Despite his declared lack of confidence when it comes to talking Zayn has become a commanding presence on stage, his smouldering, dark eyed, good looks making him a huge hit with the fans. Despite this Zayn struggles to express his feelings when he speaks. Zayn says
“Speaking and singing are two completely separate things! I can sing and not be fazed by it. Then the minute I have to speak my brain fails me!”
Zayn says he loves to perform and that One Direction winning three MTV Video Music Awards in 2012 as one of his favorite moments with the band. Zayn said
“We won three [awards]! All the stars were right next to us. We felt like the new kids, we had no friends. It was really weird…”
Obviously since 2012 Zayn Malik and One direction have gone on to become global stars, their 2014 tour made them an estimated £185 million and they were seen by some 3.5 million people. Zayn has previously said that he was just glad to get to sing for a living and didn’t mind being well known. Zayn said that he had always wanted to be a pop star
“It’s nice to be appreciated for what I’m doing,’ the singer previously revealed. This is my job, I’m a pop star and I get to sing. ‘I get to do what I love and be appreciated for it – and that’s very cool.”
Zayn has also admitted that stardom has its price, “It can be difficult, but you just have to find the right balance.”
That balance can be difficult to maintain though and there has been much speculation about Zayn’s future. One Directions current contract with Simon Cowell’s SyCo expires at the end of 2015 and it has been suggested that Zayn could quit the band at that time.
Unreality TV says that Zayn has been lying low over the Christmas period since he returned from New York City and the bands appearance on Saturday Night Live. They say that
“Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards haven’t shared any pictures of themselves together this Christmas period but a bit of detective work shows that the loved up couple have been practically inseparable over the festive period.”
Perrie however did manage to make the headlines when Metro and others reported that she made a dash to Accident & Emergency with Zayn Malik’s little sister Doniya who’d injured herself whilst washing up.
2015 promises to be another huge year for Zayn and One Direction as they head out on an 80 date world tour in early February. No doubt Zayn Malik will once again be allowing his singing to do the talking.
