Angelina Jolie Makes Her First Appearance Since Her Breakup From Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie is speaking out for kids everywhere in her first appearance in months since her breakup from Brad Pitt. Although the actress has yet to step out in public, she did record a video for the International Criminal Court about their new policy regarding children on Friday. In the clip, Angelina highlights the cruel crimes affecting kids, saying, "The impact of crimes against children is felt down the generations . . . We know we aren't giving the best to children." She continued, "Successful prosecution and new legal benchmark, whether at the ICC or elsewhere, is part of the long and vital generational effort. That is the light in which I believe the court's new policy on children should be seen."

While Angelina has been keeping a low profile since filing for divorce from Brad, the 52-year-old actor recently made his first red carpet appearance since the split alongside costar Marion Cotillard at an Allied fan event in LA earlier this month. Marion, who is currently expecting her second child with longtime partner Guillaume Canet, shut down rumors that she was having an affair with Brad back in September, and more recently, she shot down reports for the second time during an appearance on the Today show, saying, "I don't give energy to this."

Prince William Opens Up About His Struggles With Parenthood, Calls George a "Little Rascal"

Prince William may be royal, but when it comes to his kids, he's just like any other dad. During his two-day tour of Vietnam earlier this week, the prince made a stop by Talk Vietnam, where he opened up about his family life and what it's like raising Prince George and Princess Charlotte with Kate Middleton. "There's wonderful highs and wonderful lows. It's been quite a change for me personally. I'm very lucky in the support I have from Catherine, she's an amazing mother and a fantastic wife," he said. "But I've struggled at times. The alteration from being a single, independent man to going into marriage and then having children is life-changing. I adore my children very much, and I've learned a lot about myself and about family just from having my own children. It's amazing how much you pick up just in those moments."

The royal also revealed that he's still getting used to "having a girl" in the family since he never had a sister growing up, adding, "Having a daughter is a very different dynamic. So I'm learning." As for little George, Prince William admits, "[He's] a right little rascal sometimes. He keeps me on my toes, but he's a sweet boy." Now that William is a husband and a father of two, he insists that his outlook on life has changed, saying, "I worry about the future more. When you have something or someone in your life to give the future to, I think it focuses the mind more about what you're giving them. I would like [my kids] to grow up with more simple aspirations. I think there's a lot of huge aspirations and people living with an enormous amount of stuff that they don't necessarily need. I would like George and Charlotte to grow up being a little bit more simple in their approach and their outlook, and just looking after those around them and treating others as they would like to be treated themselves." Well said, William. Well said.

David Beckham Squeezes In Some Father-Son Bonding With Romeo at a Tennis Match

David and Romeo Beckham squeezed in some sweet father-son bonding when they attended the ATP World Tour Finals in London on Thursday. The duo attentively watched the men's doubles match between Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares, and Romeo was so into the match, he even snapped some footage on his phone - perhaps he wanted to show his brothers what they missed? David has been spending a lot of time with his family as of late. After attending the Alibaba Global Shopping Festival with wife Victoria earlier this month, the former soccer player returned home to London, where he reunited with his 5-year-old daughter, Harper. On Tuesday, David posted a photo of Harper riding a scooter around town, writing, "Loving London 🇬🇧❤️."

Fans Boo and Leave Kanye West's Concert After He Goes on a Pro-Trump Rant

Kanye West kicked off the second leg of his Saint Pablo tour on Thursday, but in true Kanye fashion, it didn't come without some major controversy. During his stop in San Jose, CA, the rapper went on a political rant and revealed that he actually didn't vote during the 2016 election. He shocked fans even more by revealing that if he did participate, he would've voted for Donald Trump. Since he actually attended a Hillary Clinton fundraiser with wife Kim Kardashian back in August, his announcement was met with a mixture of boos and applause. Kanye then proceeded to tell the audience that he "loved" Trump's approach, even calling him a "f*cking genius."

During his speech, he also touched on the country's current social unrest, saying, "To black people, stop focusing on racism. This world is racist, OK? It's just a f*cking fact. We are a racist country." He also spoke about his plans to run for office in 2020, saying that he will become "a different kind of president." Obviously, fans were pretty confused about the whole ordeal and took to social media to voice their frustrations.

Zika No Longer A World Public Health Emergency, Claims WHO: Outraged, Brazil Says Chances Of Epidemic Still High

Zika No Longer A World Public Health Emergency, Claims WHO: Outraged Brazil Says Chances Of Epidemic Still High

The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that the Zika virus is no longer a public health emergency of international concern. However, Brazil, the epicentre of the outbreak, has refused to downgrade the risk, noting that the chances of an epidemic are still dangerously high.

The WHO receded on Friday the global health emergency it had sounded about the Zika virus earlier this year. Interestingly, instead of jubilation, many public health experts battling the epidemic have openly expressed their reservation about the decision.

Incidentally, the WHO has merely noted that the state of emergency no longer exists, reported Times of India. However, the threat of the virus still exists. The decision was taken by an agency advisory committee called Public Health Emergency of International Concern. The members categorically noted that they never considered the Zika crisis to be over and done with, said Dr. Peter Salama, executive director of the WHO’s health emergencies program,

“We are not downgrading the importance of Zika. We are sending the message that Zika is here to stay and the W.H.O. response is here to stay.”

The committee noted that Zika is now one of the dangerous mosquito-borne diseases like malaria or yellow fever. Hence, the threat of the virus should be considered as perpetual and ongoing that has to be countered just like other diseases. Similar to all mosquito-borne diseases, Zika could become a threat depending on the season and time of the year. In other words, Zika has become a seasonal threat, and may repeatedly rear its head in regions that are considered fertile breeding grounds for the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes that carry it, cautioned Dr. Salama.

Incidentally, the developing nations are still considered very vulnerable to Zika outbreak, and they can declare regional emergencies, noted Dr. David L. Heymann, chair of the advisory committee,

“The Zika virus remains a highly significant and long term problem, but it is not any more a public health emergency of international concern”

It is these nations that are concerned about the decision taken by the WHO. They strongly feel the international response to the crisis would start waning post the announcement. Developed countries that had been pouring help to such at-risk nations might be lulled into thinking the Zika threat has been permanently averted.

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which is funding efforts to find a Zika vaccine, insisted that the decision to lift the state of emergency is quite premature, especially since the summer season is just beginning in the Southern hemisphere. The nations below the equator are at huge risk, he added.

“Are we going to see a resurgence in Brazil, Colombia and elsewhere? If they pull back on the emergency, they’d better be able to reinstate it. Why not wait a couple of months to see what happens?”

The WHO had declared Zika a global health emergency in February due to the simultaneous spread of the virus and “extraordinary clusters” of microcephaly among babies born in areas where the virus was spreading, reported CNN. Many claim the agency sounded the alarm bells only after the virus threatened Americas, and now that the virus is in control in the region, the agency has lifted state of emergency, even when the virus continues to remain a credible threat elsewhere.

At the onset of the virus attack, doctors weren’t aware that Zika caused neurological birth defect in newborns. However, once the link between abnormal skulls of babies and Zika was established, there were extraordinary efforts made in the form of research, funding, and international coordination to find out more about Zika.

Experts insist that Zika virus epidemic has merely slowed down because mosquito season has ended in quite a few northern areas of the world. They caution the onset of summers could easily cause its resurgence.
