Fake New Year's Countdown: Trick Kids Into Thinking It's 2015, Then Go Drink!

Netflix has created a faux New Year's Eve countdown just for the kids in the family ... so they can be conned into going to bed before 12 and their parents can relax!

Netflix New Year's Countdown

The three-minute video stars King Julien, the lemur from the Madagascar films.

The countdown, also a promo for Netflix's new show All Hail King Julien, features the upbeat music and dancing animals familiar to fans of the franchise.

Aside from hyping the new series, the clip's New Year's purpose is simple:

Parents can stream it anytime they like and thus convince little ones that 2015 has come, and in fun fashion to boot. And after that, well, it's finally bedtime.

Thanks to this ruse, mom and dad can pour some wine and fall asleep on the couch watching New Year's Rockin' Eve all by their awesome, party animal selves.

Just keep the volume on low so Ryan Seacrest doesn't give you away.

What is it about going to the bathroom that acts as a Bat Signal for children, alarming them to your whereabouts and begging them to be your audience whilst you do your business?
