"Fifty Shades of Grey" author earned nearly four times more than what "Harry Potter" writer JK Rowling made last year, as E.L. James cashes in on erotic fiction.
According to MailOnline, the financial accounts filed by "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James revealed that she earned £33 million ($56.19 million) last year or more than £90,000 ($153,256) daily from the proceeds of the sales of the trilogy.
Meanwhile, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling earned £8.6 million ($14.6 million) in 2013.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James reportedly earned a "modest salary" of £7,800 ($13,252) but earned dividend worth £3.24million ($5.5 million).
The trilogy reportedly sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. It's now being adapted into a film with Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson and directed by Sam Taylor-Wood.
Her company, Fifty Shades Limited, earned $33.4 million and profits made after tax reached £25.5million ($43.4 million)
