The cross-examination of a personality from the Real Housewives of Vancouver continued during divorce proceedings Friday morning with questions about whether Jody Claman was a celebrity — she said she’s not — and whether or not she commented to her ex-husband that it was nice that he brought his gay lover to court — she said she didn’t.
Claman is on the stand for the third day in Vancouver B.C. Supreme Court for the divorce trial between her and mining executive Eran Friedlander.
His lawyer asked her if she considered herself a celebrity, which led to discussion about Twitter’s “blue check,” apparently afforded only to true celebrities next to their handle.
Claman said she used to be a celebrity during the show’s 2011-2012 run (it has since been cancelled), but isn’t now.
Friedlander’s lawyer read back to Claman her own earlier testimony from May 8, 2014, when Claman insisted in court she was a celebrity.
“I am a celebrity,” she said in response to a question in May. She explained Friday that she was a celebrity then, based on her involvement with an NBC show, but since it was cancelled, she has lost her prestigious “blue check.”
“So sometime between May 8, 2014, and today, you ceased to become a celebrity?” she was asked.
“Yes, that’s right,” she said. “I no longer have a blue check, so I no longer am a celebrity.”
The lawyer then asked Claman if on Friday she said to Friedlander “how nice it was his gay lover came to court with him this morning”?
“No,” she said. Claman, in response to more questioning, denied she spoke to either man.
Claman has told the court she is $148,000 in debt and has expenses of $50,000 a month. Friedlander filed for divorce last year from the reality show star.
Unless you live under a rock, you are well aware of the fact that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville has been getting some hate because she called her 7-year-old son a “d—k” and an “asshole” on her (admittedly unfiltered) podcast. She’s refused to apologize for what she said, and now the reality star is getting called a “media hoe” on The Wendy Williams Show!
“I say that sometimes your kids can be ‘a-holes’ and sometimes they go out of line — but wait a second, she’s a media hoe,” relationship expert Siggy Flicker said on Thursday’s episode. “Everything that she does is to stay relevant to make headlines. When you’re on a reality show, the only way that you’re gonna get renewed for a second [or] third [season] is if you make the covers. So she attacks her ex-husband, his wife, and now the children. You gotta stop when it comes to the kids.”
But if you ask HLN’s Jane Velez-Mitchell, Brandi is completely out of line when she said those things about her son. “The real a-hole is Brandi. Brandi, I’m gonna tell you, look in the mirror, honey,” Jane said. “If you wanna find the biggest a-hole in America, she’s staring right at you!”
Harsh words, you guys! Let’s let the hostess with the mostess, Wendy Williams herself, sound off on the situation. As usual, the 49-year-old talk show host has something enlightening to say about the ordeal, taking the middle ground and finding a solution to Brandi’s latest blunder.
“Here’s my thing,” Wendy began. “You’re right. Kids can be a-holes and more, but that’s kitchen table talk. Like, I’m not gonna sit here and tell you all how many times our son — It’s kitchen table talk. It’s not something you’re supposed to say on your podcast.”
Bring on the flying pigs and the raining frogs, people, because I agree with Andy Cohen. About what, might you ask? Watch today's exclusive video below to find out! Also, the Kate Plus 8 special and why Kate Gosselin reminds me of Bethenny Frankel.
The Kate Plus 8 sextuplet birthday special concluded last night, and there is SO much to talk about. All week I've been hearing about Kate, that infamous tell-all book, and what type of a mother she REALLY is.
I came to some surprising conclusions and can't wait to hear your feedback -- agree or am I crazy? Also, there are some interesting things I noticed about Kate that compare to Ms. Skinnygirl herself, Bethenny Frankel. Watch and see whether you're with me on this.
It looks as if the husbands of The Real Housewives of Atlanta have some competition. In an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Melissa Gorga said that the new husbands of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will have everyone talking.
According to Melissa, the new husbands, instead of just tagging along to events and staying in the background, will be taking center stage. She said that viewers will love some of the new guys but hate the others. Teresa A. is married to Rino, whom she actually divorced and re-married 11 years later. Amber is married to James, with whom she raises four kids. Teresa A.'s twin, Nicole, is currently divorced so it seems as if viewers will be seeing some of the guys that she dates or perhaps her ex-husband.
If the new guys have such strong personalities, you can only imagine what the new girls will be like. Melissa said that the addition of Teresa A., Nicole and Amber provides a fresh and different feel to the upcoming season since they're so full of energy and were ready to go right from the beginning. However, with their energy comes a lot of drama. Melissa admitted that the season with the new housewives is a bumpy road, with a lot of unexpected occurrences.
