As expected Indian OEM Lava has announced their first Windows Phone under the Xolo brand, the Xolo Win Q900s.

At 100g, Xolo claims it is the lightest Windows Phone, an important distinction for those who were wondering how Xolo would be able to produce the world’s lightest smartphone as rumoured.

The handset features a now familiar formula of a Dual-SIM Dual-Standby Windows Phone 8.1 device with a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) processor, an Adreno 302 GPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory with a microSD card slot, 8 megapixel rear camera (with a single LED flash), front facing 2 megapixel camera, 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 1800 mAh battery.

The solid mid-range specifications (except for the processor) will set you back only 11,999 INR($117) which makes me think I should import a few to use as playing cards.

The Xolo Win Q900s will be available for pre-order from online retailer Snapdeal for Rs. 9999 (though the retail price is Rs 11,999) and will be shipping in the second week of July.
