Rosie O’Donnell Slams ‘Friend’ Stephen Collins, Katie Couric In Blog Rant

Rosie O'Donnell Lashes Out At Stephen Collins, Katie Couric

Rosie O’Donnell has not been one to back down from a fight since returning to The View, as recent bouts with Whoopi Goldberg over the Bill Cosby situation have proven.

Therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the panelist on the popular daytime talk show would have a few things to say about her friend — assuming that is “former friend” now — Stephen Collins.

Collins confessed to child sexual abuse last week in an interview with Katie Couric for Yahoo! Rosie was unimpressed with the outcome and took to voicing her displeasure in a recent blog post entitled, “U R NOT 2 BLAME.”

In the post, Rosie O’Donnell reveals that she was sexually abused as a child, and at around the same age as one of Collins’ victims (a 10-year-old).

The post was written in the style of a poem and used a lot of texting speak in place of formal English. Here is an excerpt, and a warning: it is graphic.

“in 1973 –

he was 25 years old

i was ten

same age as his first victim

he took the hand of 10 year old girl

and used it to jerk himself off

as a child

who was used in similar ways

by a man i trusted

every cell in me remembered

“we both just sat there – we didn’t move a muscle”

uummmmm –

after u came on the kids hand – u mean?

stephen …

right?”

O’Donnell also set her sights on Katie Couric and her perceived “softball” handling of Stephen Collins during the interview, which appeared in full on 20/20 last week.

“katie couric was r guest

i was sure she was gonna do 2 him

what she did 2 sarah palin

hit him with his truth

right between the eyes

expose him for who he was

“what newspapers do u read sarah?”

she saved us all then

this time

she didn’t”

Rosie went on to say that, for her, the effects of that early sexual abuse meant “sex is not fun / not now / not ever / it is married to a lingering terror / joy evaporated / my body became my enemy / i would not love it / take care of it / treat it well”

In other Rosie O’Donnell news, she recently said she would not be seeing The Interview after the terrorist threat against anyone who takes part in a screening of the film.

What do you think, readers? Did you know about Rosie O’Donnell and her past sexual abuse, and was she right to take Katie Couric to task for allegedly soft-balling the interview with Stephen Collins?
