Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade Are Married

Talk about your slam dunks!

NBA star Dwyane Wade married actress Gabrielle Union in Miami Saturday, E! News confirms. They were surrounded by family and friends, including the athlete's elder two sons and nephew. The bride wore a stapless Dennis Basso ballgown with a sweetheart neckline as she walked down the aisle.

Wade proposed to Union in December 2013 after four years of dating; Union's engagement ring is 8.5 carats and it's worth nearly $1 million. The baller "was 100% involved in the process," Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, told E! News. "I made three personal visits to Miami to present different options until they found the perfect one. Dwyane picked out the stone and they made the ring custom."

Shortly after he popped the question, it was revealed that Wade had fathered a son named Xavier with a friend, Aja Metoyer. Their baby was conceived while Wade and Union were on a brief break in 2013.

The athlete called the child "a blessing," and Union said the time apart helped her see their relationship in a different light. "I'd always wanted an awesome career with back-to-back projects, but I realized I wasn't willing to sacrifice my relationship for it. Moving forward, I decided my work schedule has to make sense for our family," she told Glamour. "Bottom line: If an issue's a deal breaker, it's a deal breaker. If your relationship isn't something you're willing to give up and you can compromise, do so."

This is the second marriage for both. Wade married Siohvaughn Funches, his high school sweetheart, in 2002. Together, they welcomed sons Zaire and Zion. The pair broke up in 2007 and their divorce was finalized three years later. Union was wed to NFL player Chris Howard from 2001 to 2006.

When Union appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show in February, the Bring It On star dropped yet another bombshell.

"For this marriage, the biggest difference between this and the last marriage will be a prenup. At my insistence. At my insistence! When you have your own stuff, you don't need to worry about anyone else's stuff," she said. "So everyone should go into the relationship knowing I'm here for you and you're here for me, and the reality is I've never seen Dwyane balance a checkbook, so I gotta protect my stuff."

Wade, who told Oprah Winfrey in 2012 that Union makes his "eyes sparkle," played a big part in the wedding planning process. "D's very involved in every detail," the Being Mary Jane actress said in the May/June 2014 issue of Vegas magazine. Union jokingly added, "My dude is having a princess moment."

In March, the couple hosted an engagement party in Miami. Jamie Foxx, Kevin Hart and Kelly Rowland were among the celebrity guests invited to celebrate with Union and Wade's closest family and friends.

Wade, 32, and Union, 41, filmed a save-the-date video for their wedding guests. The clip leaked online in early August.

Days later, the movie star had her final dress fitting at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
