More allegations from Amber Heard have been added to the case her lawyers are building against her estranged husband, Johnny Depp. In addition, Amber has filed a new lawsuit against comedian Doug Stanhope.
Friday Heard filed a lawsuit against the funny man due to a guest column that he published on The Wrap within which Stanhope claimed that Heard was blackmailing Depp.

New additions to the lawsuit against the actor in regards to his alleged abusive behavior towards Amber are shared by TheWrap.
“‘Depp has hit and kicked Heard on numerous occasions, has thrown objects at her, at one point nearly suffocated her to the point where she feared for her life,’ the new lawsuit claims. ‘Depp is an alcoholic and drug addict, and these violent episodes occurred mostly after Depp had relapsed into a cycle of substance abuse. His drug and alcohol abuse has increased dramatically in recent years, as has his violent behavior.
‘Heard repeatedly returned to Depp, despite his verbal and physical mistreatment of her, hoping optimistically that the man she married would change his behavior. Each time Heard returned, however, within months, the cycle of substance abuse and violence repeated.'”
Doug Stanhope published his guest column on TheWrap which suggested his point of view that Depp was being falsely accused of physical abuse and simply being manipulated by Amber Heard. The comedian added that he believed Heard was “threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn’t agree to her terms.”

Following the publishing of Stanhope’s column, Heard’s attorney contacted TheWrap to let it be known that the blackmailing claims made by the comedian were “unequivocally false.”
Amber Heard’s suit brought against Stanhope alleges “defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and interference with business relationships,” as the publication relays. The said suit was filed on Friday in an Arizona state court.
News about the alleged assault by Johnny Depp against Heard broke on Tuesday when Heard’s legal team issued a statement to the media that the actress had filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department about the abuse. An LAPD spokesperson said that the department will continue in the investigation of the matter.
The actress was then given a temporary restraining order last Friday and Heard alleged that Johnny Depp had been abusive on multiple occasions, including as recently as May 21 at the couple’s residence in Los Angeles. Amber Heard released multiple pictures as evidence of the abuse which included photos that showed what looks like bruising and marks around her eyes.
Following her filing for divorce on May 23, Heard was then granted a temporary restraining order against Depp, claiming she is the victim of domestic violence.
As for what Amber Heard is seeking from the suit against Stanhope, her lawyer shares that she wants to receive the maximum jury award and will donate it to a domestic violence charity in Arizona. Her lawyer, Charles J. Harder, went on to indicate how the false claims have affected the actress. The Guardian shares his words.
“The complaint alleges that Stanhope is a close friend of Johnny Depp and, as part of a coordinated effort, wrote a highly defamatory article about Ms Heard, filled with completely false, highly defamatory and very hurtful statements. Defendants are engaged in a classic case of ‘attacking the victim,’ in an effort to discredit Heard, destroy her good name and reputation, and severely harm her hard-earned entertainment career, on top of the campaign of violence that Depp has inflicted upon her for years.”
