He’s been showing off a bulky frame and prodigious beard as he prepares for his new role, but Bradley Cooper was under wraps on Wednesday ahead of a day with girlfriend Suki Waterhouse.
The couple were in Los Angeles, but the bright lights were eschewed in favour of home comforts as the 39-year-old actor took his willowy girlfriend to meet his doting mother, Gloria.
Arriving separately, Bradley and Suki, 22, met on the driveway of her sprawling home before venturing inside for a cosy family get-together.
While the British model was hard to miss in a breezy sleeveless summer dress, Hangover star Bradley was indistinguishable beneath the shaded visor of his crash helmet after cruising into the grounds of the property on one of his many motorbikes.
The actor has gained 40 pounds and a bushy beard for his new role as late real-life Navy SEAL Chris Kyle in the Clint Eastwood-directed American Sniper.
His co-star Eric Close has revealed the heartthrob has overhauled his diet and fitness routine for the part.
The Nashville star, who plays a Defence Intelligence Agency agent in the film, told E! News: 'He put on 40 pounds.
'He's really been working hard. He looks great. He's really taken on this character, [Bradley] really takes this story personally and wants to do an honorable job for Chris's memory and for his family.'
Eastwood's military biopic centres around Kyle, who served four tours in Iraq with SEAL Team 3, and was said to be the most lethal sniper in the U.S. military with over 160 confirmed kills.
He was nicknamed the Devil of Ramadi by insurgents, who put a bounty on his head. He was shot and killed at a shooting range in Texas in 2013.
Eastwood, 83, worked to adapt Kyle's memoirs for the film. It's due out in theatres in 2015.
