‘Captain America 3’ News: What Can We Expect In Cap’s Next Solo Outing?

'Captain America 3' news: The Winter Soldier will once again be a major part of the story

The latest Captain America 3 news comes straight from Joe and Anthony Russo themselves, the brothers behind The Winter Soldier. It appears that there won’t be any radical changes to the story, unlike nearly everything in the Marvel comic books these days.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Anthony Mackie, as much as he disliked his Falcon suit, has no desire to take over the stars and stripes suit from Chris Evans. The death of Captain America might not happen any time soon, but Falcon won’t be taking over for him like he did in the comics.

Captain America movies have always been about the relationship between Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes, the Russo brothers have revealed, and they’re not about to change that dynamic now.

In the first film, it appeared that Barnes had fallen to his death in a canyon far below. In the second film he came back as the Winter Soldier, a brainwashed Soviet assassin sent to kill SHIELD operatives due to a plot twist that shocked audiences everywhere.

The new round of Captain America 3 news revolves around Cap looking for Barnes after revealing himself to the villain last time, and there won’t be any antihero plot lines resulting from it. It just isn’t part of Cap’s character to turn against his own country like he did in the Marvel Civil War story arc (even then he was fighting for freedom).

The political theme of the last film introduced with the Winter Soldier will still be there, Anthony Russo stated:

“The character was invented for an explicitly political purpose. So it’s hard to get away from that nature.”

The Russo brothers have hinted that there will be a new twist on the story of the Winter Soldier, keeping the intrigue high as Cap himself continues to go through some difficulty adapting to the present day world of law and order. Steve Rogers has always been the living embodiment of the idea of the American soldier: “I don’t agree with your opinion, but I’ll fight for your right to say it.”

That isn’t going to change.

What do you think of this round of Captain America 3 news?
