Some time next month, Charles Manson will marry Afton Elaine Burton behind the walls of Corcoran State Prison in Southern California.
While there are some things about the wedding that will always remain a mystery (such as why the hell a 26-year-old woman would want to marry an imprisoned 80-year-old mass murderer), new details provided by TMZ give us an idea of what the bizarre ceremony will look like:
For starters, Manson will be allowed to kiss his bride. Prison officials say there will be no time limit on the lip-lock, but they will limit contact to hand-holding during the ceremony, and kissing once they're pronounced man and wife.
Burton will reportedly wear a traditional wedding dress, whereas Manson will be forced to eschew a tux in favor of his usual prison-issue get-up.
We'd remind Chuck that orange is the new black, but having been behind bars since 1971, he's probably never seen that show.
As for the reception, there will be no booze of course, and guests (up to ten outsiders and unlimited inmates) will be forced to dine on whatever the prison's vending machines have to offer.
There's no word on whether or not music will be permitted, although if the bride and groom want to share a first dance, they won't be allowed to make any physical contact during it.
The most important detail, of course, is that the prison will not allow conjugal visits for Manson and Burton, but they may re-evaluate his case during his next parole hearing.
Manson was denied parole during his most recent hearing in 2012. He will be eligible again in 2027.
