Police are searching for a suspect in the slaying of Michigan teen April Millsap, who was killed while walking her dog and sending her boyfriend a chilling text beforehand:
"Omg. … I think I'm being kidnapped."
This was last Thursday. She was found hours later after her family's border collie led two people jogging on the Macomb Orchard Trail to her body, reports indicate.
"She was such a beautiful child," her grandmother Jackie Levans told the newspaper of the Armada, Mich., teen, crying and stating the obvious:
"She did not deserve to die like this."
"Please tell people don't think it cannot happen to you. We would never have expected something like this to happen to us. They ruined somebody's life."
During a news conference Tuesday, authorities said neither her family nor her boyfriend are being considered as suspects, according to the Macomb Daily.
Investigators looked for a grey van possibly linked to the crime but have since ruled that out, now focusing on a motorcycle rumored to have been spotted nearby.
Police have also released a sketch of a person of interest with "sandy brown or reddish hair." Please contact your local authorities if you have any information.
