Jessica Barrymore, Half-Sister of Drew Barrymore, Found Dead in San Diego

Jessica Barrymore, the half-sister of actress Drew Barrymore, was found dead yesterday morning in San Diego.

She would have been 48 years old tomorrow.

According to local ABC affiliate KGTV, a woman named Marta Lopez found Barrymore inside her car around 6 a.m.

Upon seeing Jessica in the driver’s seat - surrounded by a SoBe energy drink and “dozens of white pills” - Lopez shouted “you need help!”

But Barrymore did not respond.

"Her car was parked right here last night around midnight," onlooker Oscar Sandoval told KGTV. "I thought she was sleeping or waiting for someone."

The Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the victim's name and her date of birth, though a cause of death is unknown at this time.

Jessica and Drew Barrymore share the same father, actor John Drew Barrymore.
