New Music: Frank Ocean Drops “Memrize”

Where in the world is Frank Ocean?

Finding Frank after he released his 2012 debut album Channel Orange has been like hunting down Carmen Sandiego. Early last year, he told the New York Times that he would be moving to Shanghai for two years to write music from remote locations. He also mentioned he didn’t want his music to be defined by suffering.

Well surprise!

Last night, he dropped a new record on his Tumblr titled ‘Memrize’ and he sounds as though he’s far from experiencing heart break.

I memorized the wayward expressions

Never look down

Never let you see me down

I memorized the way no directions

Can I come over now

I’d like to stay a little while

I memorized your body exposed

I could f-ck you all night long
