‘RHONJ’ Star Danielle Staub Can Move On From Sex Tape Debt

Danielle Staub from The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Danielle Staub from the first few seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has finally settled all of the debt she had managed to build up over the years. While she was filming the first two seasons, she often complained about not getting the money she was owed by her ex-husband from their divorce. She claimed she deserved a settlement.

After she had left the show, Staub filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in June 2012. She revealed that she had a large debt and owed as much as $1.9 million in liabilities. But she couldn’t pay it off herself, because Danielle only made $63,000 that year. In addition, she owed over $100,000 to the IRS and about $70,000 in taxes to her local township in New Jersey and various attorney fees.

According to a new Radar Online report, Danielle Staub from The Real Housewives of New Jersey doesn’t actually have to pay the debt. The news broke yesterday that she has been relieved of all of her debt, which mounted to the $1.9 million discussed above. A federal judge decided to discharge her of the debt, but she has to pay back the taxes, because tax debt cannot be removed as such. Given that is about $170,000, one can imagine Danielle is happy about this news.

Danielle Staub can now move on with her life, as she doesn’t have that big amount hanging over her head anymore. There had been rumors that Danielle was going to return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but she has yet to make her appearance.

But with the clearance of debt comes another great news for Staub. In the debt papers, it was revealed that her partner on the infamous sex tape, Stephen Zalewski, would not be getting the $100,000 from a defamation lawsuit he had filed against her. According to TMZ, he is just out of luck on this one. No word on whether he would file another lawsuit against Danielle to get what he wants.

The Inquisitr announced that Danielle Staub would leave the show after the second season. Staub was replaced with Melissa Gorga and Kathy Wakile, who are sister-in-law and cousin to Teresa Giudice, respectively. None of the women currently talk to Danielle, but many fans on Twitter have expressed their desire to see her return to the show.

Danielle Staub has not released a statement about these recent court developments, but one can imagine that she is thrilled. What do you think about her debt being cleared?
